So remember folks evil deeds done by evil people who live a risky life with skeletons in their closet are always rewarded with KARMA and well as the U.S. Capitol Police are investigating reports of two men having sex in public on Capitol grounds, The Advocate confirmed late Friday that a very explicit video reportedly shot in the Hart Senate Office Building on Capitol Hill has ignited widespread controversy and attention online. The Daily Caller, first reported on the existence of the video on Friday. The clip depicts two men engaged in a sexual act in what the publication claims is room Hart 216.

The footage seems to be shot in a Senate hearing room and it's said the video has two unidentified men engaged in a sexual act inside what appears to be a room known for hosting hearings by the Senate Judiciary Committee. One of the men is nude and hunched over the dais behind which senators would typically sit when conducting official business and questioning witnesses. The clip, recorded from the perspective of the other participant, includes a brief pan of the Senate seal on the wall.
“We are aware and looking into this," a spokesperson for the Capitol Police told The Advocate Friday evening in response to a request for comment. 

Reports are that The Advocate contacted the office of Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, the New York Democrat, but did not immediately hear back. 

Widely circulated and unconfirmed reports online identified a staffer for Maryland Democratic Sen. Ben Cardin as one of the people who are shown in the video. He's the Anti Trump cock sucker in the video on top and now I can say he's a cock sucker because he indeed is now known to be a man who enjoys sucking cock. As per the video he's also a massive asshole.

"We have seen media reports emanating from the right-wing media. As this is a personnel matter and under review, we will not be commenting further at this time," a spokesperson for Cardin told The Advocate.

Rep. George Santos expelled from Congress in historic vote

OK So the New York Rep. George Santos was just expelled from the House Today Friday Dec 1st 2023 in a historic vote following a House Ethics Committee investigation into alleged fraud perpetrated by his campaign after months of scandals around the freshman Republican lawmaker. Following the release of the ethics report last month, Santos, 35, said he would not seek reelection to the Long Island-area seat he won in 2022. The congressman, however, said he would not resign because if he did, the “bullies” would win. “I will not stand by quietly,” Santos said on the House floor Thursday. “The people of the Third District of New York sent me here. If they want me out, they’re going to have to go silence those people and take the hard vote.”

There were 311 votes to remove Santos, with 114 voting against and two voting present. Santos grabbed his coat and left the floor before the vote had concluded. One hundred and five Republicans voted to boot Santos, and 112 voted for him to remain. Reps. Bobby Scott of Virginia and Nikema Williams of Georgia were the only two Democrats to vote against expelling Santos. When asked for his reaction following the result, Santos said, “It’s over. What reaction?” Asked if he would use his privileges as a former congressman to visit the House floor in the future, he replied, “To hell with this place.” There were reports Friday morning that Santos might survive, but in a letter to his colleagues, Ohio Republican Rep. Max Miller claimed that Santos had defrauded both Miller and his mother by charging campaign contributions to their personal credit cards. Rep. David Joyce told CNN that Miller’s message resulted in some GOP members voting against Santos.

Santos survived one expulsion attempt last month, as an effort pushed forth by other New York RINO Republicans fell short, with some legislators expressing concern about setting a precedent of removing a colleague from office before they’ve been formally convicted of a crime. Sound familiar? Seems like these NY losers in charge love to hurt people who have not been convicted of any crime but don't go after real criminals anymore. Remember when the Asians in NY were getting punched, and they blamed "White people" and it turned out it was all done by crazy mostly homeless BLACK people in NY. The NY people in charge don't care about facts, trials, and innocent til proven guilty in a court of law.

So while he's not even been on trial or convicted a number of votes were expected to flip against him after the congressional report found he had spent campaign money on things like Botox, luxury shopping and the adult content website OnlyFans. Which begs the question why isn't there a trial first before you say he's guilty? Funny how the gay loving left is against him because he's a gay republican! Following the vote, Santos’s seat will be immediately vacated and the already slim Republican majority under House Speaker Mike Johnson will narrow further. A special election to fill his seat in the competitive district will likely happen within three months. Johnson and other members of GOP leadership, including Steve Scalise and Elise Stefanik, voted against the expulsion. New York Gov. Kathy Hochul posted to social media that she was "prepared to undertake the solemn responsibility of filling the vacancy in New York’s 3rd District. Yeah cause that crazy freak is sane, and cares about NY. (I'm being sarcastic here...)

The people of Long Island deserve nothing less,” presumably a reference to formally scheduling the special election. Marcus Dunn, Santos's chief of staff, told reporters that there will be staff in the office to handle constituent services like passports and immigration. That personnel will report to the House clerk. Dunn added that someone will come by to take down Santos’s name outside his former office.

Before Santos was even sworn in, a steady stream of media reports began last December revealing that he had misled voters about nearly every aspect of his life during the campaign. Included in the lies put forth by Santos are his religion (he said he was Jewish and his grandparents had escaped the Holocaust before saying he was Catholic but “Jew-ish”), his educational background (he lied about attending both New York University and Baruch College, saying he was a star volleyball player at the latter), his employment history (he said he worked at Goldman Sachs when he had not) and the death of his mother (Santos said she had died in the Sept. 11 attacks, but she died in 2016 and was not in the United States on 9/11). The North Shore Leader, a Long Island outlet, reported during the campaign that Santos had filed his disclosure 20 months late and with an “inexplicable” rise in his net worth to $11 million.

Santos has also been alleged to have stolen money from a GoFundMe that was meant to help the dying dog of a military service member and was accused of writing bad checks to dog breeders in Pennsylvania, charges that were eventually dropped. One job he actually did have was with Harbor City Capital, which has been accused by the Securities and Exchange Commission of operating a Ponzi scheme. Santos also said that Sen. Kyrsten Sinema told him to hang in there during the 2022 State of the Union address, which the Arizona senator’s office told Yahoo News was a lie. In May, Santos was charged with 13 counts that included wire fraud, money laundering, theft of public funds and lying to the House of Representatives. Santos pleaded not guilty and called it a “witch hunt.”

In October, the Justice Department charged him with 23 counts tied to campaign fraud, putting forth allegations of “stealing people’s identities and making charges on his own donors’ credit cards without their authorization, lying to the FEC and, by extension, the public about the financial state of his campaign. Santos falsely inflated the campaign’s reported receipts with nonexistent loans and contributions that were either fabricated or stolen.” That trial is set for next year. Again sound familiar?

Rep. Jamaal Bowman criminally charged with a misdemeanor for pulling a fire alarm

Remember we had Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-NY) @repbowman pulling what now we jokingly call "ALARMGATE" as he pulled the fire alarm and his excuse was "He was running late and thought this would open the doors... To a direction which Marjorie Taylor Greene later proved would have seen him going the wrong way! But it looks like finally this man has been criminally charged with a misdemeanor for pulling the fire alarm in the Cannon House Office Building, allegedly to prevent a vote on the House floor.

The charge carries a maximum sentence of six months in jail. NBC News’s Frank Thorp first reported the story. “We finished our investigation,” reads a statement from the U.S. Capitol Police (USCP). “Our agents gathered all the evidence, packaged it up, and sent the entire case with charges to prosecutors for their consideration.”

USCP presented a probable cause arrest warrant for 22DC1319A – False Fire Alarm – to the D.C. Attorney General, who is charging Bowman. Bowman has been ordered to appear in D.C. Superior Court Thursday morning at 9:30 a.m, EDT for his arraignment. The former middle school principal insisted that he pulled the fire alarm in order to open the door to make a government funding vote. Breitbart News first broke exclusively that Bowman threw emergency warning signs to the floor before pulling the alarm and running down a set of stairs before exiting the building from another floor, contradicting his claims.



Republicans have drafted a resolution to expel Bowman from Congress. We do know that Bowman reached an agreement with the Attorney General to pay a $1000 fine and issue a formal apology in exchange for having his charge dropped after three months, according to Axios. The congressman will avoid serving any jail time if adhering to the agreement. “I am responsible for activating a fire alarm, I will be paying the fine issued, and look forward to these charges being ultimately dropped,” a Bowman statement read. Bowman is still subject to additional actions from Congress, including censure and even expulsion.

Well after the house ousted Kevin McCarthy from Speaker it looks like the house Republicans voted to make Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) the nominee for speaker after an insurmountable wave of detractors forced Rep. Steve Scalise (R-LA) to withdraw his bid for the post on Thursday.



In a private secret ballot held on Friday, Jordan edged out surprise challenger Rep. Austin Scott, a Georgia Republican who announced Friday morning that he would enter the race as an alternative to the archconservative Ohio Republican.



The final tally was 124 votes for Jordan and 81 for Scott, according to Punchbowl News. It was a disappointing show for Jordan, who had worked for days to rally support, in contrast with Scott who entered the race seemingly on a whim just hours before the vote began.







It was Jim Jordan who initially narrowly lost the first private speaker vote to Scalise which for myself would have been a fine nomination but with his health issues being serious and with everything else he does I think his time left should be spent with what he's got on his cards already and with his family. He doesn't need the added pressure. So while while Jordan may be the party's official speaker designee, it's clear that title means very little if they don't fix the very noticible fractured House GOP.



As Jordan moves toward a speaker vote in the full House of Representatives, he could faces the same fundamental problem that ended Scalise's bid which was not having the votes to win. But I think he is ideal or Matt Gaetz could do well. And yes while I'd love for Donald Trump to become Speaker, and impeech both Biden and Harris and move into the Presidential chair until the next election! Having Jim Jordan there if not Trump helps me sleep better at night.



We saw how some holdouts again rebuked Jordan in a follow-up vote that asked lawmakers if they would support their new nominee on the floor, leaving Jordan with the tough task of bringing virtually all of them to his side in order to keep his bid viable. Bur in Jim Jordan I trust like I said so while some Republicans broke for the weekend without bringing a floor vote on Jordan, extending the unprecedented interregnum between speakers and capping a remarkable week of chaos and infighting among the GOP.



Jordan appeared to lose some backing even after becoming the nominee; Rep. Victoria Spartz (R-IN) said she voted for him but was prompted to reassess her support after witnessing “behind-the-scenes politics” and “backstabbing” on Friday. “He is a great American with strong conservative values, but I am not sure if he truly is the independent thinker and visionary leader we need to deliver for the American people,” Spartz said in a press release. “I will have to assess on Monday if Jim is the right person who will be held accountable to the same standard as Kevin was, or just another puppet for the swamp with a better bio.”



At least three GOP lawmakers have publicly put themselves in the never-Jordan camp thus far. It's fewer than the two dozen detractors who doomed Scalise’s run, but with 217 votes needed to take the speakership, Jordan can only afford to lose support from four Republicans.



It's also a near-certainty that more lawmakers will voice their opposition to voting for Jordan on the floor—particularly allies of Scalise, who remain furious over how the Ohio Republican maneuvered around him.



Rep. Ann Wagner (R-MO) told CNN that Jordan is a “non-starter,” and Reps. Mike Rogers (R-AL) and John Rutherford (R-FL) told POLITICO they’re also firmly in the no camp.



Rep. Carlos A. Gimenez (R-FL) made it clear that he still wants McCarthy reinstated, writing on X that “he should have never been removed to begin with.



Scott, who ran as a protest candidate to Jordan more than anything else, told reporters earlier in the day that “actually, I don't necessarily want to be Speaker of the House. I want a House that functions correctly.”



“We need to be a House that functions correctly, that means you have to do the right things the right way, what happened with the removal of Kevin McCarthy was the wrong thing the wrong way, not allowing Scalise to move forward was the wrong thing the wrong way,” Scott said.



Scott endorsed Jordan after being bested for the nomination, writing on X that “our conference has spoken, and now we must unite behind Jordan so we can get Congress back to work.” This is something I think in the end most of the people holding out will also come to when they see that spending more time on this would not help the people. So with that said I do think it's time these people get their act together and stand behind Jordan. And to quote MATT Gaetz himself! "It's JIM JORDAN TIME!"

He said that “Today, as I was rushing to make a vote, I came to a door that is usually open for votes but today would not open,” Bowman said in a statement posted on X, formerly known as Twitter. “I am embarrassed to admit that I activated the fire alarm, mistakenly thinking it would open the door. I regret this and sincerely apologize for any confusion this caused.” 

Sarah Iddrissu, his chief of staff, added in a statement on social media that, “Congressman Bowman did not realize he would trigger a building alarm as he was rushing to make an urgent vote.” Well he said it was a "mistake" so guess they will not charge him right? Well again things don't add up with his excuse and it's not like Sarah Iddrissu would lie to cover his idiotic pulling of the FIRE ALARM would she?

Many lawmakers and political observers weren’t buying it with a growing chorus of Republicans on Sunday accusing Bowman of pulling the alarm as a tactic to delay the House vote on a GOP stopgap spending bill. “This is not confusing at all,” former Michigan Republican congressman Justin Amash wrote on X. “There’s a push bar on the door below the sign. Members of Congress see these signs all the time and know exactly what they mean.



“I can’t even imagine thinking it has something to do with a fire alarm pull on the wall,” Amash added. “Stop excusing his recklessness.” The wild fire-alarm incident, which triggered an evacuation of the Cannon Building at around noon Saturday, took place as Democrats were scrambling over the GOP’s last-minute offer to avert a government shutdown.




Some Bowman critics, including former President Donald Trump, said he should be arrested and charged for allegedly trying to obstruct an official government proceeding. “Will Congressman [Jamaal] Bowman be prosecuted and imprisoned for very dangerously pulling and setting off the main fire alarm system in order to stop a Congressional vote that was going on in D.C.,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

“It was a very dangerous ‘Obstruction of an Official Proceeding,’ the same as used against our J-6 prisoners. Actually, his act may have been worse,’’ said Trump, referencing the Jan. 6 riot in 2021.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) conveyed a similar sentiment also bringing up the defendants charged with trying to stop the certification of President Biden’s 2020 election victory during the rioting at the US Capitol when calling out Bowman.

“Jamaal Bowman must be treated exactly the same as Jan 6 defendants. He was a school principal,” Greene posted on X. “He knows exactly what pulling a fire alarm means. He did it while the Dems were trying to stall for time for the Senate and the Dem whip had just called for a motion to adjourn.”



Obstructing an official government proceeding is illegal under federal law punishable by fines and “not more than 20 years.” Bowman on Saturday insisted to reporters that he wasn’t trying to stall anything – and just goofed. “I was rushing to make a vote. I was trying to get through the door,” he said. “I thought the alarm would open the door. I didn’t mean to cause confusion.

"I want to be very clear, this was not me, in any way, trying to delay the vote,” he added. “It was the exact opposite — I was trying urgently to get to a vote, which I ultimately did.” Capitol Police said they were probing the incident, and on Saturday released a still image of Bowman pulling the alarm.

The Republican-controlled House Administration Committee has also launched an investigation.

McCarthy Vows to Oust Schiff, Swalwell, Omar From Committees as Speaker

The House Republican leader Kevin McCarthy again vowed to oust high-profile Democrats Adam Schiff, Eric Swalwell, and Ilhan Omar from key committees if he becomes speaker. “I’ll keep that promise,” McCarthy told Fox News on Sunday. 

Schiff, who is the chair of the House Intelligence Committee which in itself is hilarious to say since well Adam Schiff has no "Intelligence" in his small pea sized brain. But he just accused McCarthy of pandering to the right wing of his party. “I suspect he will do whatever Marjorie Taylor Greene wants him to do,” 

Schiff said on ABC's This Week. “He is a very weak leader of his conference, meaning that he will adhere to the wishes of the lowest common denominator. And if that lowest common denominator wants to remove people
from committees, that’s what they’ll do.” 

McCarthy has said Swalwell should be off the Intelligence Committee because of his ties to a woman who was later unmasked as an alleged Chinese spy, and that Omar should lose her post on the Foreign Affairs Committee because of what he called “her anti-Semitic comments.”

Boy I do hope that Kevin McCarthy goes in hard on these people, and delivers what he's promised.

The Republican Rep. Lauren Boebert (CO) declared herself the winner of her congressional race Thursday evening, despite the race heading to an automatic recount from the looks of it? While media outlets, including The Associated Press, have deemed the race far too close to be called, the MAGA supporter conveyed to her over 1.7 million Twitter followers that she’s the winner, while only ahead of Democrat opponent Adam Frisch by around 550 votes. 

“We won! I am so thankful for all of your support, and I am so proud to be your Representative!” Boebert tweeted.

“Come January, you can be certain of two things,” she added in an a video with the Capitol building serving as a backdrop.

“I will be sworn in for my second term as your congresswoman, and Republicans can finally turn Pelosi’s house back into the People’s House.”

Chuck Schumer apologizes after using outdated term for disabled children during housing interview

OK so this idiot Chuck Schumer the so called Senate Majority Leader was forced to apologize Monday for using an outmoded word to refer to developmentally disabled children during a recent podcast appearance. Appearing on the One NYCHA podcast, Schumer used the word “retarded” in making a point about the challenge of overcoming community resistance to housing initiatives meant to serve vulnerable populations.

“When I first was an assemblyman, they wanted to build a congregate living place for retarded children the whole neighborhood was against it,” Schumer said, referring to the time he spent representing parts of Brooklyn in the New York legislature from 1975 to 1980 prior to serving in Congress.

“These are harmless kids. They just needed some help,” he said, adding that the effort was ultimately successful. “We got it done. Took a while.” He got it done for those “retards” that’s what he was thinking…. But the term is considered outdated and offensive by many, and advocates for people with mental and intellectual disabilities discourage its use.

So Monday afternoon, a Schumer spokesperson said the majority leader erred in using such an “inappropriate and outdated word” during the interview. “For decades, Sen. Schumer has been an ardent champion for enlightened policy and full funding of services for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities,” the spokesperson said in a statement. “He is sincerely sorry for his use of the outdated and hurtful language.” But why didn’t the scumbag come out infront the media, and expressed this himself? Why send a public spokesperson? This is as bad as Kamala Harris not wanting to go to the border. Rep. Matt Gaetz will do anything to help Trump!

Gotta love Rep. Matt Gaetz folks this man is a machine! He was born to be a lawyer when you hear him speaks he’s very passionate, and knows what he’s saying. I’ve often found myself wondering how is it nobody on the left debates him? They can’t they know he will eat them alive, and this folks makes for him one day making a heck of a candidte for the highest office in the land. He made it clear on Wednesday he’s willing to stand up for former President Donald Trump in his Senate impeachment trial, even if it means resigning his House seat.

The Florida Republican’s comments came after reports surfaced confirming Trump’s initial legal team had failed to show the same level of commitment.

During a Wednesday interview on the War Room podcast, hosted by Steve Bannon and Raheem Kassam, Gaetz announced he would be willing to resign if Trump asked him to defend him.

“I love my district. I love representing them, but I view this cancellation of the Trump presidency and the Trump movement as one of the major risks to my people, both in my district and all throughout this great country,” Gaetz said.

“If the president called me and wanted me to go defend him on the floor of the Senate, that would be the top priority in my life.”

“I would leave my House seat. I would leave my home. I would do anything I had to do to ensure that the greatest president in my lifetime — one of the greatest presidents our country has ever had, maybe the greatest president our country has ever had — got a full-throated defense that wasn’t crouched down, that wasn’t in fear of losing some moderate Republican senator, but that was worthy of the fight that he gave to the great people of this country for four years.”

In Gaetz’s opinion, when it comes to Trump’s current team, “the president so far has gotten a low-energy defense.”

The news that Trump’s defense has been shaken up recently has left some wondering what’s going on especially because the upcoming impeachment case against the former president is nothing but a complete sham. But I think Trump knows what he’s doing, and I believe he will ride this out, and win this case like the last Impeachment hoax.

House Democratic impeachment managers filed a pre-trial brief with the U.S. Senate on Tuesday claiming Trump “summoned a mob to Washington, exhorted them to a frenzy, and aimed them like a loaded cannon down Pennsylvania Avenue,” referring to the Jan. 6 Capitol incursion. Which folks we all know now is total bullshit, and the Dems bath in bullshit let’s not forget this fact Trump repeatedly called for peace and asked the rioters to go home.

Even if Trump’s words on election fraud did contribute to heating tensions at the Capitol, his complicity pales in comparison to Democrat’s own culpability in heating up tensions with anti-police rhetoric over the course of the last year, which undeniably led to a countless number of riots and looting sprees that raged across the country for months on end especially during the “Summer of Love” and or “The Chop Zone!” Which sounds like a broke auto parts store… lol

Shortly after the Capitol incursion took place, Gaetz made that point quite clear during a fiery speech on the House floor in which he called his Democratic colleagues out for their hypocritical condemnation of then-President Trump.

“Another important point for the country is that this morning President Trump explicitly called for demonstrations and protests to be peaceful,” Gaetz said. “You can moan and groan, but he was far more explicit about his calls for peace than some of the BLM and left-wing rioters were this summer when we saw violence sweep across this nation.”

Oh but Jimmy hold up! When did she call for Violence? She called to impeach Joe Biden not for Violence. But if you want to get rid of someone for actually calling for violence look no further than Kamala Harris who on the “Stephen Colbert show” said there should be violence AFTER the election. 

That it shouldn’t stop. No why no tough words for the new VeePee? How about congress women Rep. Rashida Tlaib who famously promised that she’d “impeach the motherfucker,” talking about Trump! Why didn’t you pop up then trying to expel her? Or Kamala? The Police escorted a reporter from a town hall event in Dalton, Georgia after she attempted to ask Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) a question on Wednesday night.Meredith Aldis, a reporter for Tennessee NBC affiliate WRCB, was removed from the event immediately after questioning the congresswoman, according to the outlet. A video of the event posted to Greene’s official Facebook page shows her being asked to comment on a recent controversy, with the congresswoman refusing to answer while commenting, “I’m talking to my constituents… this isn’t a press conference.”Another video posted to Twitter by Chattanooga Times Free Press reporter Patrick Filbin shows Aldis leaving the event while being trailed by two police officers. Press had been invited to attend the event but were told they would not be allowed to speak to anyone or ask questions after arriving, according to WRCB, who also reported that a Whitefield County Sheriff’s Office deputy had been “waived over” by Greene’s staff and threatened Aldis with arrest.Members of the public who attended were asked to submit questions in advance, leaving Greene’s staff the option of carefully filtering the questions. 

However, the video shows multiple members of the public being allowed to speak during the event, with some asking apparently impromptu questions without any reprimands or police interference.“Ms. Aldis interrupted the event and caused a scene,” Nick Dyer, Greene’s communications director, said in a statement to Newsweek. “This was a town hall for constituents. Not a press conference. Dyer went on to say that Aldis and WRCB had “conducted a stunt tonight at Congresswoman Greene’s extremely successful town hall,” adding that the outlet “instead decided tonight was their chance to break into national media.”“It looks like Newsweek is rewarding their activism,” Dyer concluded.Newsweek reached out to the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office for comment.Greene, a newly elected member of Congress who announced she was drafting an article of impeachment for President Joe Biden before he had even taken office, has been under mounting pressure in recent days due to the surfacing of a series of past Facebook posts and activities that show her apparently supporting several far-right conspiracy theories.

During Wednesday’s town hall, Greene portrayed herself as a victim of unfair media coverage. She complained that her “really nice” posts about Bible verses were not making headlines instead.

“The media controls the microphone,” Greene said during the event. “They’re going to dig up anything they can to make me sound like a monster and a horrible person and they’re gonna report about that nonstop. But they’re never gonna post about the thousand and thousands of really nice Facebook or Twitter posts that I’ve made” or “Bible verses, praising someone, doing something good or anything nice,” she continued. “They’ll never tell you about any of those, they’re just gonna always make sure that someone like me looks like a monster. And that’s wrong.”

Majority Leader Schumer turned down a request by Minority Leader McConnell to include a protection for the filibuster in a Senate power-sharing agreement, calling the request “unacceptable.” Schumer added that he wants the same agreement that was established for the last 50-50 Senate in 2001, and called McConnell’s request an “extraneous demand.” The minority leader noted that he refused former president Trump’s demand to end the filibuster in 2017 and that Democrats have used it many times themselves.

Defense Officials Confirm Trump Is Still Commander in Chief, Refuse to Participate in Military Coup to Oust Him

Despite a campaign by the left socialist/communist known as modern day Democrats and the establishment media to delegitimize President Donald Trump after Wednesday’s Capitol incursion, Department of Defense officials intend to avoid outside pressure and continue to recognize him as the commander in chief while avoiding taking part in “a military coup,” according to a report.

But wait wouldn’t that be considered TREASON? Did Nancy Pelosi just ask him to commit Treason? Why shouldn’t she be locked up for this?

It was widely reported Friday that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi asked Army Gen. Mark A. Milley, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, to limit the president’s access to the country’s so-called nuclear football, which contains launch codes for America’s vast arsenal of nuclear weapons.

Pelosi called Milley to ask him to ignore orders from Trump to use those codes. It’s unclear what initiated the call to Milley. No specific threat from Trump seems to exist, suggesting the call was made for political purposes. The California Democrat reportedly told Milley she wants to limit the president from responding to international threats during the final days of his term.

NPR reported Pelosi told her Democratic colleagues she spoke to Milley about “available precautions for preventing an unstable president from initiating military hostilities or accessing the launch codes and ordering a nuclear strike.”

“The situation of this unhinged President … could not be more dangerous and we must do everything that we can to protect the American people from his unbalanced assault on our country and our democracy,” Pelosi wrote. According to The New York Times, the Pentagon is remaining neutral in the partisan squabbling.

A statement from Col. Dave Butler, a spokesman for Milley, confirmed to The Times that the call took place. “[Milley] answered her questions regarding the process of nuclear command authority,” Butler said. The newspaper spoke to other Pentagon officials who were reportedly hesitant to get involved in Pelosi’s political match, according to Times reporters David Sanger and Eric Schmitt.

“Mr. Trump, they noted, is still the commander in chief; unless he is removed, the military is bound to follow his lawful orders. While military officials can refuse to carry out orders they view as illegal — or slow the process by sending those orders for careful legal review — they cannot remove the president from the chain of command. That would amount to a military coup, the officials said,” Sanger and Schmitt reported.

“The one issue that has worried officials the most is Iran’s announcement that it has begun enriching uranium to 20 percent purity — near the quality to make a bomb. In December, Mr. Trump asked for military options that might be taken in response to Iran’s escalating production of nuclear fuel, but he was talked out of it by a number of top officials, including General Milley and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo,” the Times also reported.

Pelosi and other Democrats have used the events at the Capitol Building on Wednesday to justify going after Trump, and they have signaled they intend to exact political revenge against him following years of fear-mongering about his mental state during his final days in office.

Democrats have also announced they plan to again impeach the president, and there is chatter they might attempt to remove him from office by using the 25th Amendment with less than two weeks left in his term. Other Democratic lawmakers have also reportedly put pressure on Milley since Wednesday. But for now, the military has reportedly rebuffed them and intends to remain neutral from politics.

Trump remains the only person in government with the capacity to directly order military action and who has the discretion to use the country’s nuclear arsenal. Any attempt to deny him the tools to carry out his duties presiding over national security would be unlawful, unless there is an invocation of the 25th Amendment, or any orders given to Pentagon officials by him are determined to be themselves unlawful.

President-elect Joe Biden will be inaugurated on Jan. 20, at which point he will be given command over the country’s military and nuclear arsenal.
