Now this was bipartisan by both sides of lawmakers who voted to censure Representative Al Green following his outburst during President Donald Trump's address to a joint session of Congress.

Following the vote, Green defended his actions, saying he "was making it clear to the president that he has no mandate to cut Medicaid." 

Censure is a formal and public reprimand issued by a legislative body to express disapproval of a member's actions. Unlike expulsion, it does not remove the individual from office but serves as a condemnation that can impact their influence and reputation in the House. Green's actions have sparked debate about the boundaries of political protest within Congress, particularly during high-profile addresses by the president. His supporters argue that his protest was justified, while critics including members of his party viewed it as an inappropriate breach of protocol.

Approximately 10 House Democrats voted with several Republicans for Green's reprimand.

Green is not the first lawmaker to disrupt a president during a congressional address. In 2009, Representative Joe Wilson, a South Carolina Republican, shouted "You lie!" at then-President Barack Obama during a speech on health care reform. The House later reprimanded Wilson. More recently, in 2024 and 2023, Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, a Georgia Republican, interrupted then-President Joe Biden during his State of the Union address. She did not face formal censure.

Which Other Politicians Have Been Censured?

Historically, only a handful of lawmakers have faced this formal rebuke. One of the most recent cases before Green was Republican Representative Paul Gosar of Arizona, who was censured in 2021 after posting an animated video that depicted violence against Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a New York Democrat.

The move to censure Gosar was supported mainly by Democrats, with only two Republicans voting in favor. In 2023, Democratic Representative Rashida Tlaib of Michigan was censured for her remarks regarding the Israel-Hamas conflict. The resolution accused her of promoting rhetoric that was deemed antisemitic by critics. Another prominent censure occurred in 2010, when Democratic Representative Charles Rangel of New York was censured for 11 ethics violations related to tax evasion and improper use of congressional resources. The House overwhelmingly voted to censure Rangel.

Brandon Gill (R-Texas) circulating a petition for his supporters to sign to deport Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) needs to happen. Gil had previously called on Omar to be deported, arguing she is more loyal to undocumented immigrants in the United States from her native Somalia than to the United States. The petition and an email circulated by Gill were first reported by Axios. 

Omar became a U.S. citizen in 2000 after fleeing her native country due to civil war. The Minnesota representative has been the target of Republican insults following her staunch criticism of President Trump during his first administration. “Friend, we should have never let Ilhan Omar into our country. And frankly, America would be a much better place if she were to be sent back to Somalia,” Gill wrote in the email which included a picture of him next to President Trump. As in the past, he criticized Omar for discussing how to evade Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers. “Recently, it came out that Ilhan Omar is hosting free workshops for Somalians, who are in our country illegally, on how to evade ICE and deportation. It could not be more blatant: Ilhan Omar is more loyal to illegal Somalians than she is to the United States, or the office she was elected to,” he added. Several Democrats criticized the most recent remarks by Gil, a freshman member of the new Congress. 

“⁦@SpeakerJohnson⁩, get control of your caucus before we have to take other actions. This is demeaning & embarrassing,” Rep. Mark Pocan (D-Wisc.) said in a post on X. “We all need to be better than this shit. I expect an answer today.”

Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-Wash.) also raised concerns with the GOP member’s comments. “It’s disgusting that Republicans are attempting to raise money by threatening to deport a US citizen just because they disagree with her,” she wrote on X. “Ilhan Omar is a tireless advocate for her district, a fierce protector of our democracy, and I know these fascist threats won’t keep her down.”

Jamaal Bowman loses primary race

So remember the moron New York congressman Jamaal Bowman who after he activated a fire alarm while Congress was in session, triggering an evacuation as Democrats were trying to stall a vote to avert a government shutdown and he knew better so it was done on purpose and than when questioned lied and said he was trying to enter a part of a building via an exit door, and longer way to his destination. Something MTG or Marjorie Taylor Greene exposed. Well the same idiot Jamaal lost a primary challenge, according to projections, in a closely watched race that exposed a bitter rift within the Democratic party over the Israel-Gaza war. George Latimer, 70, entered the race in December at the urging of local Jewish leaders who were angry with Mr Bowman over his vocal criticism of Israel.

But he has accused Israel of genocide, which it denies, and repeatedly questioned the Biden administration's support of Israel's government. Overall, $24.8m was spent by various groups in the race, making it the most expensive House of Representatives primary in history.

With 88% of votes counted on Tuesday evening, Mr Latimer had won more than 58% of the vote, compared with 42% for Mr Bowman. A long-time former county executive, Mr Latimer has portrayed himself as a steadfast defender of Israel and characterized Hamas as a terrorist organisation that won't negotiate. After his victory, he offered a unity message and took aim at extremist views. "We have to look at the arguments of the far right and the far left, and say you cannot destroy this country with your rhetoric and your arguments." Mr Bowman, who won office in 2020, had accused Aipac of trying to "buy" the race in the district, which spans Westchester Country and part of the New York City borough of the Bronx. And Bowman's odds were likely hurt by a change soon after his election to his district's boundaries, which were extended north into more of New York City's affluent suburbs. Mr Latimer was supported by former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, while this is cause for concern for conservatives it's not like this is someone who is right wing but at least this he isn't someone as mental unfit to hold office like Jamaal Bowman. Mr Bowman was backed by House minority leader Hakeem Jeffries, left-wing Ocasio-Cortez and independent Vermont senator Bernie Sanders. Primary races also took place on Tuesday in Utah and Colorado. In Colorado, headline-making Republican Lauren Boebert emerged victorious over five other rivals from her party in the state's fourth congressional district.

Ms Boebert, 37, opted to run in the heavily conservative district after leaving the state's third district in which she narrowly won re-election in 2022. The primary also marked her first electoral campaign since her personal life drew the attention of national media. In one incident, which took place last year, she apologized after being escorted out of a theater performance in Denver after complaints of vaping, singing and causing a disturbance.

Some real estate investors are losing interest in investing in the Big Apple after New York Supreme Court Justice Arthur Engoron’s staggering ruling last week in a civil fraud case against President Donald Trump.

President Trump and Trump Organization executives were ordered on Feb. 16 to pay $355 million in fines, plus interest, after Justice Engoron found them liable for inflating the values of their assets to obtain better rates from lenders and insurers.

The judge also barred the former president and his sons from managing their businesses in New York for three years.

“I’m shocked at this. I can’t even understand or fathom the decision at all. There’s no rationale for it,” “Shark Tank” investor Kevin O’Leary told Fox Business on Feb. 19.

The Canadian businessman, often called “Mr. Wonderful,” described New York as a “mega loser state” for business.

“New York was already a loser state, like California’s a loser state,” he said. “There are many loser states because of policy, high taxes, uncompetitive regulation. It was already on the top of the list of being a loser state. I would never invest in New York now.”

Instead, Mr. O’Leary said he would be looking to Oklahoma, North Dakota, and West Virginia for future investment opportunities.

“Those are winner states. They don’t do things like this.”

President Trump expressed appreciation for Mr. O’Leary’s comments in a post on his Truth Social platform. “Kevin O’Leary is so great, and tells it like it is,” he wrote. “Businesses will flee NYC & State after the Corrupt Judge’s ruling!” And at least one other investor is doing just that.

Grant Cardone, a private equity fund manager and owner of real estate investment firm Cardone Capital, said he was considering investing in New York before Justice Engoron’s ruling.

“CardoneCapital just started to research real estate investments in New York believing it was time to get into the market,” Mr. Cardone said in an X post. “After the over reach [sic.] by the judge in the Trump case & penalties imposed of $355M I told them team do NOT waste time in New York.”

The real estate mogul added that his companies would now be doubling their efforts in Florida, Arizona, Texas, and Tennessee instead.

Mr. Cardone’s comments follow his wife’s creation of a GoFundMe campaign to help raise the $355 million President Trump was fined. More than $660,000 has been raised in the four days since the fundraiser was launched.

“I stand unwaveringly with President Donald Trump in the face of what I see as unprecedented and unfair treatment by certain judicial elements in New York,” Elena Cardone wrote on the GoFundMe webpage. “The recent legal battles he faces are not just an attack on him but an attack on the very ideals of fairness and due process that every American deserves.”

Ms. Cardone also stressed that the purpose of the fundraiser was to defend not only the 45th president but all businesses against “a system that increasingly seeks to penalize dissent and curb our freedoms.”

President Trump’s latest fine adds to the more than $83 million in damages he was recently ordered to pay writer E. Jean Carroll in a defamation case over his denials that he sexually assaulted her. He has pledged to appeal both rulings as he simultaneously fends off four criminal indictments.

The former president maintains that all of his current legal troubles are nothing more than an attempt by Democrats to thwart his campaign to reclaim the White House.

In a Truth Social post, he reiterated that belief and called for an immediate end to “all political prosecutions” against him.

On July 20, 2023, the U.S. House of Representatives passed H.R. 3935, the Securing Growth and Robust Leadership in American Aviation Act (the “Act”).  The Act is now before the U.S. Senate for review and debate.  The current version of the Act includes provisions on FAA organizational reform, increasing pilot protections, and improving airport infrastructure.  In Title VI, “Aerospace Innovation,” the Act details new requirements for unmanned aircraft systems (“UAS”), advanced air mobility (“AAM”), and commercial space launches and reentry.

Specifically, Section 652 includes a congressional mandate for the Federal Aviation Administration (“FAA”) to publish the final rule establishing procedures for certifying powered-lift pilots and applying the operational rules to powered-lift operations within 13 months of the Act’s enactment.  In addition, Section 265 directs the FAA to update low altitude routes and flight procedures for powered-lift, requiring the Administrator to consult with powered-lift operators and “other relevant stakeholders” when crafting the revised rules.

In Title VII, “Passenger Experience Improvements,” the Act includes new requirements for family seating, seat dimensions, airplane drinking water, accessibility, and several other consumer protection provisions.

Section 726 would require, for example, that all domestic and foreign air carriers provide complementary drinking water to passengers on flights with a scheduled duration of 1 hour or more.  Further, Section 719 would require the Department of Transportation (“DOT”) to issue a notice of proposed rulemaking directing air carriers to sit young children adjacent to an accompanying adult at no additional cost.

The committee said it had received a referral from the Office of Congressional Ethics, a separate office that reviews misconduct allegations, on June 23. That means a majority of that body decided the matter was substantial enough to refer to the committee, which is chaired by Democratic Rep. Susan Wild of Pennsylvania.

They committee said the disclosure of the investigation was mandated by the panel's decision to extend the amount of time it's investigating the matter. It added that it had not made a judgement on whether an ethics violation had occurred. It also said it would "announce its course of action in this matter" next year after the 118th Congress convened.

The committee did not indicate why the congresswoman was under investigation, and in a statement to Insider, Lauren Hitt, her spokesperson, did not offer further details.

"The Congresswoman has always taken ethics incredibly seriously, refusing any donations from lobbyists, corporations, or other special interests," Hitt said. "We are confident that this matter will be dismissed."

It's possible that the investigation was spurred by a September 2021 complaint from the conservative American Accountability Foundation accusing the congresswoman of accepting an impermissible gift by attending the 2021 Met Gala, where the cost of attendance for many guests is $35,000. Ocasio-Cortez was invited to the event as a guest of the Met and did not pay for her ticket. 

The congresswoman notably wore a dress emblazoned with "TAX THE RICH" at the event. She was not permitted to keep the dress, Hitt told PolitiFact last year. Ocasio-Cortez has said she attended the event in her official capacity as a member of Congress and that lawmakers from New York were routinely invited. Rep. Carolyn Maloney, a fellow New York Democrat, has attended multiple Met Galas, and the Office of Congressional Ethics recently opened an investigation into whether Maloney solicited a ticket to the event in 2016. House rules state that members may not accept gifts, except under exemptions for widely attended events or charity functions.

The conservative group said Ocasio-Cortez's attendance violated those rules because the event was exclusive and run by Condé Nast, a for-profit media company.

Trump has been permanently suspended from Twitter since January 8, 2021, following the Capitol siege by Trump supporters.

Some 948 people have been criminally charged in the insurrection, and 450 have pleaded guilty. Several rioters and their attorneys blamed Trump for their involvement, saying the former president "asked us to go to the march on the 6th."

Talk about an act of pure hypocrisy! Cori Bush hits out at critics accusing her of just that over defund the police stance as she pays an outrageous amount on her own personal safety on our tax payer money. The Missouri so called representative, who has repeatedly called on her party to “defund the police”, spent just under $30,000 a month between mid-April and the end of June, according to Federal Electoral Commission filings. So we can go to hell and have less police to protect us poor folk while Cori Bush who clearly is worth more then us common folk needs that sort of spending (on us) for her safety. So Rep Bush, 45, hit back at critics who said she was hypocritical to retain private security officers while calling for cuts to police funding.

“They would rather I die?” she asked when asked about the spending by CBS News in what is a very telling, and hilarious peak into the mind of this idiot someone voted for in their district. Going as far as saying “I acknowledge that former Secretary of State Brian Kemp will be certified as the victor in the 2018 gubernatorial election.” Followed by “You see, I’m supposed to say nice things and accept my fate. They will complain that I should not use this moment to recap what was done wrong or to demand a remedy. And I will not concede because the erosion of our democracy is not right.” But she trashed Trump when he questioned the 2020 election. Also her sister is a Judge and she refused to even see the mounting proof that there was fowl play in the state. Why did she refuse to let the proof be seen? Because she was also in on it. Now “The arrogance is outmatched only by the insanity.” Calls to “defund the police” emerged from the 2020 civil rights protests over the death of George Floyd.

Floyd who was under arrest, and was high refused to be calm after he was arrested for a crime, and caused the issue which lead to his unfortunate death. Mind you “Floyd” who had a long career criminal record, and one which included him going to prison after holding a pregnant woman hostage, and robbing her a few years before his death. He wasn’t a good guy folks and while his death was wrong, and the cop did wrong he was not someone who you should call to defund the police over. In an 11th hour decision, the Biden administration extended the eviction moratorium in areas with high rates of coronavirus transmission. Ms Bush was supported by fellow ‘Squad member’ Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and Senators Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren.

The Black Lives Matter activist, and domestic terrorist who was seen storming the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6 was busted, and yes charged! Finally the Department of Justice does something right as they announced on Thursday his arrest. A new court filing says John Earle Sullivan, 26, told FBI agents last week that he was at the Capitol when the breach happened. He said he entered through a window that had been broken out. He also said he was present when Ashli Babbitt, an Air Force veteran, was shot dead by a U.S. Capitol Police officer as she tried to climb into the House Speaker’s Lobby through a window. Sullivan showed agents some of the footage he captured inside the building, which he and others entered illegally. See folks this was all staged by these same motherfu–ers who rioted, looted, and burned all the shit down last year. These are all working for the DEMS! They knew Trump was holding the rally so they had these guys spread out to make this staged event take place. The loss of Ashli Babbitt was not part of the plan I think. That looks to me like it was just something that happened when the secret agent thought the mob was busting in, and he panicked.But Videos do show Sullivan and others breaking through a barricade, with the Utah man shouting: “There are so many people. Let’s go. This [Expletive] is ours! [Expletive] yeah. We accomplished this [expletive]. We did this together. [Expletive] yeah! We are all a part of this history. Let’s burn this [Expletive] down.” He was later heard encouraging protesters to climb a wall to get to an entrance to the Capitol and was seen entering the building. During one conversation with others while inside, Sullivan said, “We gotta get this [expletive] burned.” At other times, he said, among other things, “it’s our house [expletive]” and “we are getting this [expletive].”Sullivan told U.S. Capitol Police officers to stand down so that they wouldn’t get hurt, according to the court filing. He joined the crowd trying to open doors to another part of the Capitol, telling people “Hey guys, I have a knife” and asking them to let him get to the front. He did not make it to the doors. He later tried to get the officers guarding the Speaker’s Lobby to go home, telling them: “Bro, I’ve seen people out there get hurt.”Sullivan spoke to a slew of media outlets after the breach, including CNN and ABC. He told The Epoch Times that he took steps to blend in with the crowd so he didn’t “get beat up.” He said he’s known in the activist community as being a member of the far-left, anarcho-communist group Antifa. He denied being a member of the network. He told The Epoch Times he knew of plans to storm the Capitol and that he saw them on “undergrounds chats and things like that.” He posted information about the plans on his social media, but didn’t inform the law enforcement. “I’m not a snitch,” he said. Sullivan has posted in support of Black Lives Matter.He leads a group called Insurgence USA, which says it was founded in the wake of the death of George Floyd, a black man, in police custody in Minneapolis last year. “The lack of care for the human life was unacceptable so we set out to end police brutality. We then set out to empower and uplifting black and indigenous voices,” the group’s website states. Sullivan was charged with rioting and criminal mischief in Provo, Utah, based on his activities around a protest last year in which a person was shot and injured.
