Kim Ng won't return as Marlins GM

Some would call it a "shocking turn of events," but not me! Nope not I for like a psychic I seen it coming, and hoped the Marlins would part ways with her for sometime now as she's made way to many mistakes as GM in my opinion to keep her job even with the team making the playoffs, and getting humiliated and swept in the first round. This to me was the final straw and after all the blunders she had to go... I'm not speaking from any inside knowledge here but to me it was a mutual parting of ways once things got settled. As those who know me know I'm a sort of person who has been vocal about how badly she's been as GM for sometime so I'm very happy about this move.

Kim cost the team a ton of money that the team is on the hook for and this year they were supposed to improve which they did but again got swept in the first round. Now yes they faced the Phillies but due to her bad contracts the last two years I think it had a lot to play into this happening. There have been more mistakes than good things happening with her as GM. So finally the front office is going to see someone I hope is a legit GM who can help the team not over spend and build an actual winning culture here.

While yes the club did exercised its team option for her to return for the 2024 season, it was actually Kim herself who declined the option, Marlins chairman and principal owner Bruce Sherman said. "We thank Kim for her contributions during her time with our organization and wish her and her family well." He followed that by saying that "We will immediately begin a thorough and extensive search for new leadership as we plan to continue to invest in the Marlins organization both on and off the field. We are committed to our fans and the South Florida community, and look to build off the momentum of the great progress of this year."

Kim was with the club since she was hired in November 2020, and became the first woman to serve as a GM for any major professional men's team in North American sports. She was hired due to the team wanting to be inclusive to someone who could check off some lists for the team, shes a woman and an Asian woman at that. Not for her merit or having experience doing the job in my opinion.

It was no easy task for her of course but as she had joined the organization with the fourth-worst record in the Majors since 2004 and was perennially near the basement of the National League East. She over spent and traded away someone who out pitched the entire Marlins pitching staff in Pablo Lopez. Yes they got
Luis Arráez and he had a great season. But hitters like him can be great a couple of years than decline quick. While it was fun the first few months but Luis Arráez was nowhere to be found when it became time to show up. The playoffs.

While Lopez won his games and his Twins went to the second round which is where they finally lost. Not due to him he was great in his starts.

In three seasons with Ng at the helm, Miami went 220-266, making the postseason in 2023 for the first time since the pandemic-shortened '20 campaign. It also was the first time the Marlins clinched a full-season postseason spot in 20 years. But unlike the 2003 Marlins this one didn't go far.

While she said that "Last week Bruce and I discussed his plan to reshape the Baseball Operations department," Kim wrote in a statement to MLB.com. "In our discussions, it became apparent that we were not completely aligned on what that should look like, and I felt it best to step away. I wish to express my sincere gratitude and appreciation to the Marlins family and its fans for my time in South Florida." Which to me is code language for her to have an easy way out without looking like she got fired which would cost her jobs in MLB in the future perhaps?

Kim also said that “This year was a great step forward for the organization, and I will miss working with Skip [Schumaker] and his coaches as well as all of the dedicated staff in baseball operations and throughout the front office. They are a very talented group and I wish them great success in the future."

Some think that she will be a strong contender for Executive of the Year but if she does get it it's only because of her being the first woman GM.

Among some of her moves that were the trade acquisitions of closer Tanner Scott, NL Wild Card Series Game 1 starter Jesús Luzardo, All-Star second baseman Luis Arraez, Jake Burger and Josh Bell. She also hired first-time manager and likely NL Manager of the Year finalist Schumaker last November. Skip was decent but not perfect or even good. He was just decent and also made a lot of rookie manager mistakes. The team made those moves under her which some worked out and some didn't.

Here are some that flopped hard! First abysmal Avisaíl García who was all her and he's been horrible and cost the team a four-year, $53 million contract with the Marlins in November of 2021.. His contribution so far 2 years in? He's been probably one of the worst free agent pick up in Marlins or MLB history!

With the RF Job being locked in by Bryan De La Cruz who had a wonderful year and proved that Garcia just wasn't needed. Also Jesus Sanchez had a very good year and with JAZZ in CF where is Garcia going to play next year? IF he even is here. While I say trade him with his contract he has ZERO trade value.

She also over spent on Jean Segura who also did nothing all year and was traded to the Guardians along with minor leaguer SS and recent draft pick Kahlil Watson. The Guardians cut ties with Segura in a matter of minutes as they saw how bad he was and never let him infest the club with his awful year. They made the move to get the SS prospect they wanted and to move Bell as they had a replacement in place for his bat. She also got David Robertson from The Mets who went to blow a bunch of saves and lost the closer job faster than anyone expected. Also for some odd reason the club wouldn't remove Joey Wendle as the SS even tho he had an awful season and also belongs DFA's! He's just not the answer at SS. A position which should have been the job of Jon Berti for the last 3 years IN MY OPINION!

How do you start Joey Wendle over Berti after Berti out classed him, hit him, and won the stolen base crown in 2022? He lost a lot of at bats to a terrible hitting SS in Joey Wendle. They failed to get help at catcher and held back Nick Fortes for another person who can't hit in Jacob Stallings. I mean mistakes by the ton here folks. So much that her leaving is the best thing possible. The team lost it's "ACE" pitcher for at least a year maybe 2 in Sandy Alcántara due to blowing out his arm in the first year of his "big contract" irnonic huh? They rushed 20 year old prospect Eury Perez and had to go with a make shift rotation which including starting games with bullpen pitchers. Eury who also got hurt and was not in the playoffs after a hot start.

For now Internal candidates for the GM job could include assistant general managers Brian Chattin, Daniel Greenlee and Oz Ocampo. I'd love to take the job myself and think I could do a better job personally. But whoever gets the job I do hope it's someone who knows baseball, and has been in the game sometime as an actual GM. Not a rookie trainee with no GM experience. Honestly she failed more than she succeeded and with the money spent it's not worth having her stick around in the GM role.

Whoever is the next GM I only wish it's someone with again actual GM experience that can help the club move forward and build an actual winning culture here. Something this franchise needs... While I think the ownership is good as it is the front office has always been a mess since the Jeffery Loria ownership and after.

Check out some of the videos below talking about this sudden move by her, and the Marlins.

Marlins get No. 5 seed, head to Philly for Wild Card Series

Miami begins its quest for a third World Series title in team history and it's now clear after the D-backs' (84-78) loss to the Astros. The Marlins (84-77) secured the fifth seed (second National League Wild Card) by remaining a half-game ahead in the standings. Since Miami won the head-to-head tiebreaker, taking four of six in the season series, resuming Thursday’s suspended game against the Mets on Monday in Queens wouldn’t affect the seeding.

That means the Marlins will head to Philadelphia to face the fourth-seeded Phillies in a best-of-three NL Wild Card Series, beginning on Tuesday at Citizens Bank Park. It will mark the first time the NL East rivals have squared off in the postseason.

Left-hander Ryan Weathers who is the son of former Marlins Dave Weathers and whom the Marlins acquired from the Padres ahead of the Aug. 1 Trade Deadline, went six scoreless innings. Weathers, who was recalled from Triple-A Jacksonville to make his second start with the organization, allowed just two hits, walked three and struck out five on 99 pitches. He pitched excellent and will be needed if the team goes deep into the playoffs as the starting 5 took some big hits this season losing for the rest of 2023 ACE Sandy Alcantara and Rookie sensation Eury Pérez to injuries. Now going in without your two "best" is hard for any club to over come but this to me just means the rest of the starters and pitchers in the pen have to step up.

What's fantastic about them going is that other than the 2020 plandemic season this is the first time in years they're in the playoffs. First two times lead to world series runs which lead to wins. IN both 1997 and 2003 I remember my dad and myself going to all the home games in 97 for each game of the playoffs, and world series. Great memories and now with today's kids I hope they get to have that here with the current Marlins team. Which on paper has a nice line up top to bottom.

The main concern again is the starting pitching...

 1. Jesús Luzardo
  2. Braxton Garrett
3. Johnny Cueto
   4. Edward Cabrera
 5. Ryan Weathers

Not exactly scary on paper but those arms all have tons of talent... Cueto is old and has done nothing this year... Maybe this will be his one shining moment for 2023. We shall see... Due to need he's probably going to be in the roster pitching 3rd like on the list there.

Either way it's an exciting time to be a Miami Marlins fan... Wish them well.

Go FISH!

30+ Years and the Marlins FINALLY hit for Cycle...

Hey look at that only took the Miami Marlins 30+ years to have someone hit for the cycle! Remember the team was birthed in 1993 and won two world series one in 1997 and another in 2003! So now the Miami Marlins who have had a very rough couple of seasons have something nice to enjoy this easter week! AS FINALLY the Miami fighting Marlins have a player hit for the Cycle.

And it's someone not many thought would be the guy to deliver such a game! I mean he's not known as a big "home run" hitter but he's more of a line drive singles, doubles guy. Not even someone who steals many bags but gets on base a lot and someone be brought in for Pablo Lopez this off season!

Yes Luis Araez who's off to a very hot start hit his first home run as a member of the Marlins and the Cycle on the same night Jesus Lazardo pitched a great ball game.

Check out the highlights below here...

Angel Espino to be a Guest on Fish Stripes!

Well this is cool! As you all know I'm a big baseball fan and a BIG Miami Marlins fan and for me having watched 4 world series live from "1988-1989" in California to "1997 & 2003" in Miami Florida!

I've been a fan since I was a kid and my father is the man to blame. He took me to all those games even when we had moved to Miami in 1985 he went back to Cali with me to see them two WORLD SERIES sine one of my uncles (his brothers) still lived out west and always got us tickets to the playoffs, and WS games if we we're able to go.

As of luck got to see all those home games out there, and then it repeated itself here in Miami when the Marlins known then as "Florida Marlins" went to the World Series.

As of luck got to see all those home games out there, and then it repeated itself here in Miami when the Marlins known then as "Florida Marlins" went to the World Series.

So while I've done very little of my own in terms on podcasting sports in the past I've been a fan of baseball as most who know me know and so when I was check out videos online I like watching mostly Marlins, and Rays coverage these days and the videos of Fish Stripes on YouTube is a show I've enjoyed for a while now.

As the new MLB season is starting up I really wanted to show them some love for the outstanding work they do on their shows get sometime soon to jump on air with them and talk some baseball. They had a spot coming up so I'm going to join the guys and talk some Marlins baseball and perhaps other teams also who knows.

Ely Sussman is the main dude I spoke to there and he's got a nice show going on there.. It's always an cool to be a guest on someone else's show especially when it's a fun show to chop it up about baseball or something other than the normal stuff I get into with my guests.

So coming up Monday at 5:30pm est soon as the recording is ready to roll and it's posted I shall post it here on this site, and my other ones also. As of now not sure if they will air it live or pre record and upload later but I'll keep you informed and I'm sure it will be on their site for your viewing enjoyment.

But for now friends check out their site and enjoy the show they put on and if you're from the SoFlo/Miami area. So show them some love by subscribing to them, bookmarking them so you could keep up with the latest info on the Miami Marlins.

MLB Cy Young awards given out and look at this Miami Marlins own wins one...

Hall of Famer Pedro Martinez presents Sandy Alcantara with the National League Cy Young Award, the first Marlins pitcher to win this award. The Marlins had a horrible season but he was incredible. Seems like every time he pitched he was in a 1-0 or 0-0 game until almost the last inning. Had the guy got more run support he would have won 25 games easily. None the less he pitched outstanding all year and well he deserves the award. Both these men do check out the video below...

Chuck Carr, an original Marlin has passed away.......... RIP

So I Remember opening day 1993 my dad and I were sitting there as they called the named out to the opening day line up... We had a great time that year watching the Marlins even when they were not that good. Now Chuck Carr was brought in a few weeks in when Scott Pose, and Junior Felix both fixxeled and Nigel Wilson didn't seem ready. They revamped and not many cared we just were loving that we had MLB down in the MIA!

One day Chuck Carr makes a spectacular play in CF and as he looks dead pan into the camera he gives this bigger than life smile which told the rest of the story on how he felt after the catch. He became a house hold favorite not just here but the entire league for a while it looked like he was headed for big things as he won the Stolen Bases crown and eveything.

I'm not sure what happened to him but he was a heck of an enjoyable player to watch run down balls in CF while in a Marlins Uniform... Well he was 55 when he passed away just now and this brings me back some. Sad... Rest in Peace "Chuckie Carr"

Chuck Carr, a key member of the Marlins' expansion, recently died at the age of 55. According to family social media posts, the San Bernardino, Calif., native was apparently battling health issues.

"We are saddened to hear of the passing of Chuck Carr," the Marlins said in a statement. "One of the original Florida Marlins, Chuck quickly engrained himself as a fan favorite as he was often seen making amazing catches in the outfield or speeding around the bases. We send our deepest condolences to his family and loved ones during this difficult time."

At the start of his professional career, Carr bounced around three organizations before making his Major League debut with the Mets on April 28, 1990. But he appeared in only 16 games and didn't receive an everyday opportunity until the Marlins selected him with the 14th pick in the 1992 Expansion Draft.

Though a 25-year-old Carr didn't start in the Marlins' inaugural game on April 5, 1993, he went on to play in a career-high 142 contests that season. Carr stole a National League-best 58 bases and posted the highest range factor per nine innings among center fielders, finishing fourth in NL Rookie of the Year voting.

Carr slashed .256/.320/.326 with 58 doubles, four triples, eight homers and 115 stolen bases in 353 games across three seasons in South Florida before being dealt to the Brewers with Minor Leaguer Ty Narcisse for Juan Gonzalez in December 1995.

During his tenure in Milwaukee in 1997, Carr infamously ignored a take sign, swung on a 2-0 pitch and made an out. Following the game, Carr said, "That ain't Chuckie’s game.

Chuck was granted free agency soon after and signed with the Astros. Carr's eight-year MLB career came to a close with the 1997 NL Central champion Astros, who lost in the NL Division Series to Atlanta. In that matchup, Carr went deep off Hall of Famer John Smoltz.

The Braves would later fall in the NL Championship Series to the eventual World Series champion Marlins.

Mattingly wont return to manage Marlins in 2023

Well he was my favorite player growing up as a massive fan of the Yankees, and Donnie Baseball it was a dream to watch him play and for the last seven years he managed the Miami Marlins.

While I loved as a player I can say he wasn’t as great a manager but good enough to keep during the growing pains of rebuilding, and wishing he would get better over those seven years.

Three dismantlement, and rebuilding later and he’s still not good and this past season is by far one of the worst in team or MLB history. A team loaded with talent which seems like it was fighting to end up in last place not first.

He made a lot of bad moves as a manager but he was mostly often failed by bad moves in the front office and this past year was the same! Forced to tale on 3 big bloated contracts from OF which couldn’t hit all year he was forced to play these guys over young talented rookies which would have done a better job at these positions. Also if you’re in rebuild mode why would you spend all that money on these 3 contracts which A is a catcher known to NOT be able to hit but has a swell glove? You already had a better option in a Nick Fortes who can hit, and also sports a nice glove. Sure not a GOLD ONE yet but give him time. Also with a plethora of OF Depth why would you sign “Soler, and Garcia” ? These moves make no sense. Jeter left town cause he didn’t like these moves either but he wanted to throw Millions at NICK
CASTELLANOS who also would have been a bad move from looking at it. They should have just developped OF from the players they had, and saved the money to keep their pitching.

Besides ACE Sandy Alcantara the team is loaded with good young arms which are still going thru growing pains and developing. Oh It’s find Don is leaving after all Jeter left so might as well start new next year so with that said can we ditch the rest of this horrible front office? Bruce Sherman if you won’t sell the team AT LEAST ditch [general manager] Kim Ng, She’s horrible.

Now here is the press out off MIAMI:
Manager Don Mattingly and the Marlins have mutually agreed that he will not return for the 2023 season, the team announced on Sunday afternoon.

“We are fortunate to have had Don Mattingly leading our team on the field over the last seven years,” chairman and principal owner Bruce Sherman said in a statement. “He has represented the Marlins, our players, our fans, and the South Florida community with unmatched dignity and pride. Over the course of our recent conversations with Don, we both agreed not to pursue a new contract for the 2023 season and that the time is right for a new voice to lead our clubhouse.”

“After meeting with Mr. Sherman and discussing with [general manager] Kim Ng, all parties agreed that it was time for a new voice for the organization,” Mattingly said in a statement. “I am proud and honored to have served as manager of the Marlins for the past seven years and have enjoyed my experiences and relationships I’ve developed within the organization. I look forward to spending time with my family in Evansville, and to any future endeavors.”

The longest-tenured and winningest skipper in franchise history, Mattingly entered the series finale against the Nationals with a 437-583 record (.428 winning percentage) in seven seasons. After five years with the Dodgers from 2011-15, during which he led the club to three straight National League West titles, he signed a four-year deal in November 2015 to become the 15th manager in Marlins history, when the organization had a roster including the late José Fernández as well as future MVPs Giancarlo Stanton and Christian Yelich.

But a rebuilding stage began under the current ownership group soon after, and Mattingly didn’t reach the playoffs with Miami until the 2020 COVID-19-shortened campaign, helping the franchise snap a 16-year postseason drought in its only winning season under his tutelage. He went on to win National League Manager of the Year that season.

In September 2019, Mattingly signed a two-year contract extension with a mutual option for ’22 (it was his idea to have a deadline for it) that was exercised July ‘21, meaning he is not under contract for next season.

It has been a disappointing 2022 for the Marlins (63-89), who expected to contend in the competitive NL East but sustained a multitude of injuries to the likes of All-Star Jazz Chisholm Jr. and more, as well as the underperformance of marquee signing Avisaíl García.

Asked whether the outcome might have been different had the season gone differently, Ng said it’s “always a consideration” because it’s an “outcomes-based industry.”

“When you have a season like this one, where everyone is really disappointed at the end of the year, the outcomes, I think you reflect quite a bit — and a lot of self-reflection, I think, on everybody’s part,” Ng said. “It was through conversations we all just got to the same place, which is that Donnie wasn’t going to pursue a contract for ‘23 and we were not going to pursue a contract for ‘23.”

When asked about Sherman mentioning a new voice to lead, Ng later added, “I didn’t sense any disconnect. I watched the club intently the last couple of months, and they’re still playing hard. But sometimes somebody new adds a little bit something different, and that clicks. Again, I think between all parties, this was just the way we decided to go.”

What this means for the rest of Mattingly’s coaching staff has yet to be determined because the organization’s focus had been on the conversations that led to Sunday. As for the next manager, Ng said it is important but not a prerequisite that they have Major League experience. The Marlins want someone in as soon as possible.

So why Sunday with 10 games left in the season?

“I don’t know that there’s ever a good day for this type of thing,” Ng said. “In order for Don to also say goodbye to people, it’s hard to do the day after the season. So today was fine, and tomorrow’s an off-day. It gives everyone a little bit of a chance to breathe.”

Remembering Jose Fernandez

José Delfín Fernández Gómez was a Cuban-American professional baseball pitcher who played four seasons in Major League Baseball. He was a member of the Miami Marlins from 2013 until his death in 2016. He stood 6 feet 3 inches tall and weighed 243 pounds during his playing career.

The Miami Marlins... A Look back. First decade.

I've been a long time fan of the Florida/Miami Marlins, and with the recent passing of one of our original members of the Marlins Chuck Carr having just passed away at age 55 I thought I'd give a video tribute look back at the first decade and two rings of this franchise in Miami Florida.

DINGER!!! WHERE IS THE DINGER!!!!

I can see where this could happen easily, and it’s actually pretty funny but for like a day or so the entire nation was angry at the Colorado fans for having someone utter a racial slur! Well hold up folks not so fast. Whie Lewis Brinson an Outfielder for the Miami Marins was at bat you could hear what sounded like the dreeded “N” word and I don’t mean “NERDS” even tho nobody wants to be called that either.

Lewis Brinson was at bat when the yelling could be heard and so the world of Twitter, and FakeBook went crazy with all sorts of conspiricies to well wishes to Lewis Brinson for having to endur such horrible behavior. Well there is a side to this story that needs to be told as the case has been now solved, and yes. DEBUNKED!

Earlier in the day, the Rockies announced that after a thorough investigation that included calls, e-mails and video clips from fans, media and broadcast partners, the club concluded the fan was instead yelling for Dinger, Colorado’s mascot and not the horrible slur. Now might be time to change the name of the Mascot. LOL Lewis Brinson, who said he didn’t hear the shouts during his ninth-inning at-bat, was told postgame on Sunday what was initially thought to be said.

“My initial reaction I was upset,” Brinson said. “Nobody wants to be called that. It’s a disrespectful, disgusting word that belittles my people, Black people, and it’s a disgusting word and nobody wants to hear it. So my initial reaction I was upset, and disgusted. I was in shock, one. Again, I didn’t hear it initially, but definitely initial reaction was upset, shocked.”

An active member of The Players Alliance, Brinson said he has watched the video at least 50 times and thought he heard the slur upon reviewing the original footage that surfaced saying “It’s not that I want to hear it. I never want to hear that word,” Brinson said. “I haven’t talked to the Rockies, I haven’t talked to that fan personally, but if that’s the case [that he didn’t say it], then I’m sorry for any backlash or anything that he’s getting right now. I’m getting a lot of love and support on Instagram and I’m sure on Twitter, and I appreciate that wholeheartedly 100 percent.

“But again, I’m a human. I have sympathy. If he was yelling for the mascot, I am sorry for any backlash or any unnecessary attention that he’s getting right now. But that doesn’t [take away from the fact] that this does happen in our game. I don’t know if a lot of people know this, again, personally I’ve never been called that on the baseball field or off the baseball field, but I know a lot of Black players have, and it’s disgusting, and it needs to stop like right now. There’s no place for that in sports, there’s no place for that in life. I just don’t want to have that situation thrown under the rug. Like I said, it does happen.

“I do get maybe once a month called the n-word on Instagram by cowards. They don’t show their face, they don’t tag themselves on the initial post, or the DM that they send me, but I do get it at least once, maybe twice a month, and I know a lot of Black players maybe get a little bit more. We do get called the n-word on social media, and it’s disgusting. We see it, try to block it out, but it’s a disgusting and degrading word and it brings nothing but hate, and just disgustingness and cowardliness. But there’s no place for it.”

Marlins bench coach James Rowson, who is filling in as manager while Don Mattingly recovers from COVID-19, echoed many of Brinson’s sentiments, and said he appreciate the dialogue that has come as a result.

“You give the Rockies credit for doing their due diligence on it,” said Rowson, who is Black. “But in talking to Lew, and just in general to so many Black players and coaches throughout the league and throughout the years that have gone through this, I think you don’t want to lose sight that this is a real thing and it happens.

“I thought it was really good to get people talking about it and saying, ‘Hey, I don’t think that was right,’ because I think if we moved back many years ago, it would have just been kind of swept under the rug, but the fact that we’re talking about what we thought happened is important … I think silence is the biggest enemy here.”

Miami Marlins Michael Hill Supports B.L.M Terrorists!

Marlins executive speaks out on ‘Black Lives Matter,’ how change needs to come, and how he supports their movement. As we have become fully aware these past two weeks this group along with Anti-fa have destroyed, looted, and rioted all over this country. This are terrorists in our own country! They are Domestic terror groups, and now we know where Michael Hill, the Miami Marlins, and MLB stand. Not behind our rule of law, or constitution. But they stand behind terrorists groups. And again instead of using his platform to try and bring unity Hill like BLM use it to bring more division to the country.

I for one don’t need sports or new media “entertainment” coming from Hollyweird if this is how they feel. They can all go to hell. Hope they never reopen at this point. How do you like them Apples Mr Hill?

Michael Hill wrapped up a busy week with the MLB draft. As president of baseball operations for the Miami Marlins, Hill was ecstatic with the pitchers the team was able to find in the draft. He believes the future is bright for the organization.

But, Hill also had an issue he wanted to discuss that he felt was much more important to the future, and it had nothing to do with baseball.

Hill joined Local 10 Sports Sunday and discussed a topic that is at the forefront of so many conversations these days in America; racial injustice and police brutality toward members of the black community.

Hill is one of only a handful of black executives in Major League Baseball. He was born to an African-American father and a Cuban mother. He feels he can be part of the voice for change and said now is the time to take action.

“We rallied our group of leaders in baseball and said, ‘Enough is enough.’ Racial injustice, we know it’s despicable, but we know that we all can do more. We know as a powerful group we can do more. We can bring awareness, which was the first goal, but the second goal was to try and keep this movement moving forward,” Hill explained on the show.

Hill knows that people care, but he wants to make sure that it doesn’t stop with just words and statements of change.

“So many times when something awful happens, we all acknowledge it’s awful and then we’re on to our next thing in 24 hours, but this was something that we wanted to put our money where our mouth was. We wanted to make sure that this movement continues and change is truly put in place,” Hill stressed.

He added, “We understand that ’Black Lives Matter,’ but we also wanted to show that we are united for change. Thirty competitors in baseball were united and we’re all going to use our voices that we have to do more. There’s some self reflection that we all have to do.”

MLB announced that donations were made to several organizations that support and fight for racial justice, including the NAACP Legal Defense and Education Fund, Equal Justice Initiative, Color OF Change, Campaign Zero and the Jackie Robinson Foundation.
