Pence sued by Texas GOP Congressman Louie Gohmert over competing electors

In an interesting move Rep. Louie Gohmert is suing Vice President Mike Pence in a bid to overturn the stolen election by President-elect Joe Biden’s victory over current President Trump. The fix was in folks, and we all can see it, and so Gohmert and several other Republicans who are named in the suit, including Republican slate of electors from Arizona, aim to allow Pence to overturn Trump’s defeat in some key states when Congress meets to count Electoral College votes on Jan. 6. The vice president traditionally presides over this meeting as president of the Senate, where they officially announce the results of the election.

Now before you all lose your shit over this, and think this isn’t a well thought out move you need to calm down, and let this play out. Someone had to bring this lawsuit to Pence in order to be able to get him to act it’s needed, and he can give Trump the win we know he earned.

The lawsuit challenges the 1887 Electoral Count Act, which dictates the vice president’s role in announcing the results as a ceremonial one. Instead, it says this federal law violates the Twelfth Amendment, which provides for separate Electoral College votes for president and vice president. The lawsuit is filed in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas.

Gohmert is asking Judge Jeremy Kernodle, a U.S. District judge in Tyler who was appointed by Trump, to allow Pence to choose which electoral votes to count in key states President Donald Trump lost. And remember President Trump retweeted a supporter’s theory that Pence could overthrow the results of the election last week.

Legal and election experts immediately took to Twitter to debunk the lawsuit. “If the Twelfth Amendment somehow gave the Vice President the power to unilaterally throw out electoral votes for the other guy in favor of their own party (and even *themselves*), one might think that one of them would’ve noticed by now,” Steven Vladeck, professor of law at the University of Texas at Austin School of Law.

VP Mike Pence vs. Kamala Harris in only V.P debate of the year!

Untitled Document
Vice President Mike Pence and Democratic vice presidential nominee Sen. Kamala Harris took each other on in the year’s only vice presidential debate. You can watch the whole debate right here AND follow tweets below where you’ll get a take on everything from the moderator’s questions and the candidates’ claims to fact checks and media spin to plexiglass separators and COVID testing to social media reactions.

According to ABC’s Rick Klein — Harris had more than 3 minutes more time than Pence.

Pence takes on Harris’ record of locking up black men…

Once again, Harris shares the “very fine people” lie Even Politifact shared the truth about what President Trump said after Charlottesville — BECAUSE IT’S IN THE TRANSCRIPT:

Trump: “Excuse me, excuse me. They didn’t put themselves — and you had some very bad people in that group, but you also had people that were very fine people, on both sides. You had people in that group. Excuse me, excuse me. I saw the same pictures as you did. You had people in that group that were there to protest the taking down of, to them, a very, very important statue and the renaming of a park from Robert E. Lee to another name.”

Reporter: “George Washington and Robert E. Lee are not the same.”

Trump: “George Washington was a slave owner. Was George Washington a slave owner? So will George Washington now lose his status? Are we going to take down — excuse me, are we going to take down statues to George Washington? How about Thomas Jefferson? What do you think of Thomas Jefferson? You like him?”

Reporter: “I do love Thomas Jefferson.”

Trump: “Okay, good. Are we going to take down the statue? Because he was a major slave owner. Now, are we going to take down his statue? So you know what, it’s fine. You’re changing history. You’re changing culture. And you had people — and I’m not talking about the neo-Nazis and the white nationalists because they should be condemned totally — but you had many people in that group other than neo-Nazis and white nationalists. Okay? And the press has treated them absolutely unfairly. Now, in the other group also, you had some fine people. But you also had troublemakers, and you see them come with the black outfits and with the helmets, and with the baseball bats. You had a lot of bad people in the other group.”

Trump has — several times — condemned white supremacy

There have been many occasions, actually, in which the president denounced white supremacy.

There’s a fly on Pence’s head No one will pay attention to what Harris is saying as long as it stays there.

Glad Pence asked Harris about court packing. Pretty sure Susan Page wasn’t going to do it. The moderator will ask questions that fit her narrative and no others.

“Page forces the debate to move on. This is a joke.”

Nope. Kamala will NOT answer the question about packing the courts

Kamala Harris hasn’t wavered yet from the Biden campaign’s edict to NOT answer the question about packing the Supreme Court.

Jake Tapper probably isn’t too surprised.

2nd Stimulus Check Timeline out?

According to Vice President Mike Pence’s top aide in an interview this morning with Bloomberg Radio, the White House wants Congress to pass another stimulus package by the first week in August, before lawmakers head home for their annual summer recess, and to keep the cost at $1 trillion or less. Marc Short, Pence’s chief of staff, in the interview with Bloomberg Radio, “I think we want to make sure that people that are still unemployed or hurting are protected but at the same time, we want to take into consideration the fact the economy is bouncing back and want to try to contain the amount of spending. “There’s obviously been a lot of stimulus put in the system over the last couple bills, and so the price tag for us would be that.”

The White House and lawmakers are set to intensify talks on a new package of virus-related stimulus this month, after they return to Washington from their Independence Day holiday break. Trump administration officials have eyed a $1 trillion spending cap since at least early June, Bloomberg News reported last month. And the White House expects the next coronavirus relief package will cost up to $1 trillion, Marc Short said. The House is scheduled to begin its recess by Aug. 3, with the Senate following a week later. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has said he wants Congress to complete work on the next phase of stimulus by then.

“By that time table, we want to have a bill on the president’s desk,” Short said. Sen. Rob Portman’s Deputy Communications Director released the following statement to FOX8, “As we move forward with negotiations on the next relief package, Rob is open to additional relief but believes it should be targeted at those who need it most while also providing incentives to get individuals safely back to work and to get the economy back up and running.”

Trump said next 2 weeks will be 'very painful' as confirmed US cases approach 200k

At a White House press conference with medical experts on Tuesday, President Trump warned of a “very, very painful two weeks” ahead for Americans. NIAID Director Dr. Anthony Fauci also suggested that 100k-240k Americans could die in the coming months. Fellow expert Dr. Deborah Birx struck a more optimistic note, suggesting extensive mitigation efforts could yield results by July.

In what has to be a somber new tone from the president that comes after his medical advisers showed him data projecting that the virus could kill 100,000–240,000 Americans even with strict social distancing guidelines in place as it is now. Sunday, Trump dropped his aspiration of reopening America by Easter after seeing the data and bleak hospital images out of New York, which is the epicenter of the crisis in the U.S.
The White House published health guidance on Tuesday as part of its new “30 days to slow the spread” plan, which would expire on April 30.

The big picture: Birx, the White House coronavirus task force coordinator, said at the briefing that estimates showed between 1 million to 2 million in the U.S. could die from the virus “without mitigation.”

  • But with social distancing and strong public health measures in place, the “mountain” could be depressed to a “hill” that projects 100,000–240,000 deaths, Birx said.
  • “As sobering a number as that is, we should be prepared for it,” said Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. “Is it going to be that much? I hope not, and I think the more we push on the mitigation, the less likelihood it will be that number.”
  • Trump, who has repeatedly compared the coronavirus to the seasonal flu, said at the briefing: “A lot of people have said ‘Ride it out. Don’t do anything, just ride it out. And think of it as the flu.’ But it’s not the flu. It’s vicious.”

Questioned about his change in tone, Trump said that the pandemic is “really easy to be negative about” but that he tries to maintain optimism and act as a “cheerleader for the country.”

  • “We are going through the worst thing that the country has probably ever seen,” he added. “We lose more here potentially than you lose in world wars. So there’s nothing positive, there’s nothing great about it, but I want to give people in this country hope.”

CORONAVIRUS TASK FORCE UPDATE

President Trump & Coronavirus Task Force Hold News Conference, and the President gets some good news, and as you can see in the video he gives VP Mike Pence the floor, and MIC to give us his, and the Task Force latest information. Keep in mind folks updates are on a daily basis, and I’ll try to keep posting videos as they’re placed by the White House to make sure to keep anyone who’s checking for updates and don’t know where to look.

The funny thing for me during this outbreak is how much the leftist media has been trying to smear, and blame Trump for things out of his ability to do.. He, and the Task Force he put together have done a good job as our overall numbers on losses are low for now. Just keep staying safe folks, and try not to make yourself a victim by doing stupid shit.
