Superman Colorist Quitting Over DC Comics’ Woke Makeover Of Hero

Superman Colorist Quitting Over DC Comics’ Woke Makeover Of Hero: ‘It’s A Bunch Of F***ing Nonsense’ said Superman colorist Gabe Eltaeb as he announced he plans to quit DC Comics after the comic book publisher announced a series of progressive changes to the superhero.

DC Comics announced this past week that it’s two major changes to Superman in its series “Superman: Son of Kat-El.” First, Superman would come out as bi-sexual and start a gay relationship with Jay Nakamura. Second, Superman’s motto, “Truth, Justice, and the American Way,” will be replaced by “Truth, Justice, and a Better Tomorrow.”

Eltaeb railed against the changes to the superhero during an October 13 YouTube livestream hosted by Cyberfrog creator Ethan Van Sciver. Eltaeb said that after the latest change to Superman – DC Comics cutting “the American Way” from the hero’s motto – the colorist decided he would be quitting the comic book publisher at the end of his contract.

“I’m finishing out my contract with DC. I’m tired of this s***, I’m tired of them ruining these characters; they don’t have a right to do this,” Eltaeb said, according to Bounding Into Comics.

“At Comic-Con in 2009, I was pushing Jerry Robinson’s wheelchair around,” Eltaeb said, referring to the prominent Batman illustrator and artists’ rights activist. “That’s the man who invented the Joker. I would work the DC booth back then. I remember bending down to his face and telling him, thank you for creating these characters, so people like me can waltz in and get a job. It’s not about gay or anything else.”

“What really pissed me off was saying truth, justice, and a better world. F*** that it was Truth, Justice, and the American way,” Eltaeb continued.

“My Grandpa almost died in World War II; we don’t have a right to destroy s*** that people died for to give us,” he added. “It’s a bunch of f***ing nonsense.”

Eltaeb then blasted progressives and leftists. “They call us bigots and racist and s***, I would ask them, find me in the f***ing mainstream, not on the fringes, one f***ing book, one f***ing t-shirt, one movie that says that leftism is bad, and conservatism is good, find it for me, they f***ing won’t they’re not letting people have a voice, they’re the f***ing bigots,” he said.

He concluded apologizing for his explosion on the live stream, saying “that’s been bottled up for five years.” Former “Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman” actor Dean Cain also bashed the changes to the iconic superhero.

“It’s hard for me to keep track of all the different Supermen and the different worlds and adventures that he has in the comics,” Cain said, noting that “Son of Kal-El” is only one series of dozens featuring Superman, his offspring, and his partners. “They said it’s a bold new direction. I say they’re bandwagoning.”

“I don’t think it’s bold or brave or some crazy new direction. If they had done this 20 years ago, perhaps that would be bold or brave. But brave would be having him fight for the rights of gay people in Iran where they’ll throw you off a building for the offense of being gay,” Cain added.

The new Superman, Jon Kent, has had a short run as the Man of Steel so far, but his comics have seen him focused largely on battling a new generation of villains, like “hacktivists” and those who would subvert efforts to combat climate change.

“Why don’t they have him fight the injustices that created the refugees whose deportation he’s protesting? That would be brave, I’d read that. Or fighting for the rights of women to attend school and have the ability to work and live and boys not to be raped by men under the new warm and fuzzy Taliban,” Cain said.

“There’s real evil in this world today, real corruption and government overreach,” he added. “It’d be great to tackle those issues, shine a light on those issues. I’d like to see the character doing that.”

Michael B. Jordan to play Val Zod Superman on HBO Max

Ever hear of “Val-Zod” ? No? Well I’m sure you know who Michael B. Jordan is right? Yeah well the star of Creed, Black Panther, and a slew of other big name movies is now said to have his production company Outlier Society developing their own Black Superman project for the ever expanding HBO Max.

Val-Zod is a different incarnation of the Superman character one which has yet to be seen on the big screen or small screen. The character is a Kryptonian but he’s from another Earth. Not the main one as Kal-EL which is the one being currently played by Henry Cavill on the big screen, and the Snydercut and Tyler Lee Hoechlin on the CW.

Outlier Society the production company owned by Michael B. Jordan has hired a writer who is currently working on the script, though nobody has been named yet, and the project is just not yet fully developed. But we do know that it’s being written as a limited series that Jordan will produce and possibly even star in, though he has yet to officially commit as this is all still very fresh, and I’m sure soon we will get work if he will play Val-Zod or another role. Remember he was in Black Panther but didn’t play the title role there.

As previously reported, J.J. Abrams and his company Bad Robot are set to produce a Black Superman movie for Warner Bros. that is expected to follow the Kal-El/Clark Kent version of the character. Though Clark Kent is traditionally depicted as white in the DC comics, the character will be played by a Black actor in the Bad Robot movie, which will likely be directed by a Black filmmaker, as Abrams is simply expected to produce. Author and cultural critic Ta-Nehisi Coates is already hard at work on the script for that project.

While Jordan did work with Warner Bros. on developing a Black Superman movie at one point, he recently shot down rumors that he would star in Abrams’ new film, saying “I’m flattered that people have me in that conversation. It’s definitely a compliment, but I’m just watching on this one.”

A recent editorial penned by Jamie Broadnax for Black Girl Nerds provides some context and prompted Collider to do some digging, as Broadnax’s sources told her that “Jordan has not wanted to engage in conversations about racebending Kal-El for the same reasons many of the fans are pushing back on the current Warner Bros. re-imagined version of Clark Kent, but that he would be interested in engaging on a Black Superman project centering on the Val-Zod storyline.”

The distinction is an important one, particularly within the Black community, as Broadnax explained how it would be tone-deaf of Warner Bros. and DC to ‘racebend a white character and erase Black characters that already exist in the DC universe under the Superman banner — Calvin Ellis and Val-Zod.’

She has a valid point. If there are two perfectly good Black Supermen, why would Abrams’ big-budget Black Superman movie follow the white version of the character? Is it simply because Clark Kent is better known within the realm of pop culture? We may never know the answer, but what is clear is that Jordan wasn’t into that idea, and now he’s developing his own Superman project, albeit for WB’s sister streamer, HBO Max.

“It’s important for people to see themselves in roles that they normally wouldn’t see. What that does to the next generation, to a kid or somebody that didn’t think that is something that they could achieve — now they’re thinking about it and daydreaming about it,” Jordan told the Hollywood Reporter back in April while promoting Without Remorse.

Val-Zod is the Superman from Earth 2, where he is one of the last Kryptonians, and the second to assume the mantle of Superman. The character was orphaned after his parents were executed by Krypton’s high court, though he was found on Earth 2 by Terry Sloan, who offered the young alien asylum to “protect” him from the outside world. Ellis, on the other hand, is the Superman of Earth 23, where he is the President of the United States.

Outlier Society’s feature credits include Without Remorse, Just Mercy, the HBO movie Fahrenheit 451, and Denzel Washington’s upcoming drama A Journal for Jordan, which finds MBJ playing a military man who, in the event that he is killed in action, writes a journal for his son teaching him how to live a decent life despite growing up without a father. Sony will release the film on Dec. 22 and it is expected to be an awards contender this year.

Jordan is currently prepping his directorial debut, Creed III, while also developing a Static Shock movie for Warner Bros. and a remake of The Thomas Crown Affair for MGM and the Russo brothers’ AGBO banner. Jordan is represented by WME, M88 and Ziffren Brittenham, and representatives for both the actor-producer and HBO Max did not respond to requests for comment.

Ezra Miller brings shame to The Flash! Again

The fan outcry to recast Ezra Miller with The CW’s Grant Gustin in the movie The Flash is growing, and it’s got nothing to do with his on film performance but by his real life acts in public, and the public now want a new actor isn’t shocking really but the issue here is the movie “The Flash” is that it has wrapped production (it finished filming back in October of 2021), so while there isn’t that much they could do. Or is there? Well about Miller’s presence in it at this point, they could easily announce a change for the future of the DCEU and the casting. Still, Warner Bros. has been relatively hush-hush thus far about the situation as a whole..

Barry Allen is a beloved character, and fans have been waiting for him to have his standalone movie. Now, that is tainted by Miller’s actions in Hawaii and their continued actions there despite already having been arrested once. Yes the easy decision, is to cast Grant Gustin in the larger universe, given how beloved his portrayal of Barry Allen is.

It’s what everyone online seems to be yelling and want. This would mean that DC Comics’ movies don’t lose too many fans in the process (and would add in fans from the show, as well). What has been happening, though, is everyone online making jokes while also hurting the non-binary community at the same time. Back in 2020, Miller spoke with GQ about their pronouns, and it was widely covered online.

So, talking about Miller’s misdeeds doesn’t also mean you have to misgender them. Many online have been using “he/him” pronouns while talking about them, when it has been widely known and put into publication that Miller’s pronouns are “they/them.”

The future for Miller and his career isn’t going to be a fun press tour for a movie that fans have been waiting for. If anything, it wouldn’t be surprising if Warner Bros. delayed the release of The Flash again, even though we still have a year before its release date (in June of 2023).

What needs to happen, though is Warner Bros. has to have a serious conversation about what they want to put out into the world, because Miller does not need to continue being the face of Barry Allen with how they have been acting in Hawaii. Time to move on, and dump this loser who doesn’t even know who he is, and mis uses his fame to hurt others, and is just throwing shame to a loved character.

🎙INSIDE THA JACKALS HEAD W/ Mark McKenna

Welcoming back the iconic Illustrator of some of my favorite comics which include DOOM PATROL! Which is one of my favorite comic series ever. I read them as a kid, and his run on Flex Mentallo is awesome, and it’s one being used currently on the TV SHOW!

But Mark McKenna has had an amazing run in comics spanning over 3 decades now. In that time he has worked on Batman, Wolverine, Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk and more recently on Star Wars, counting close to 600 comics or more by now.

Mark’s work can be seen in Legendary Picture Books PACIFIC RIM movie prequel as well as Dark Horse Comic’s Star Wars-The Old Republic: The Lost Suns. In 2012 his work on the online web comic titled “Star Wars: Blood of the Empire” was collected into an 84 page trade paperback and was the lynch pin for the 2012 released Bio-ware online video game, The Old Republic. DC and Marvel have collected Mark’s work in multitudes of titles such as Doom Patrol, Venom, Deadpool Classics and Exiles.

Mark has also created, written, inked and published the Sci Fi/Horror COMBAT JACKS comic book mini series. The COMBAT JACKS Collection which collects the 144 page mini series into a hardcover mini series is NOW available.. under Mark’s Banana Tale Press imprint.

His children’s book series Banana Tail and Friends is a labor of love that he created when his daughter was four and had a newborn son. The BOOnana Tail Halloween Special was released for Halloween 2014 and was treated as an “all ages” comic project that continues to grow with children that had the original storybooks read to them as younger children. The other Banana Tail titles include; Banana Tail’s Tales and Activities, Banana Tail’s Colorful Adventure and the soon-to-be-released Banana Tail and the Checkerboard Jungle. He was so nice to send me his first books of Banana tails years ago, and as an avid collector I can’t thank him enough. Awesome stuff for kids, and hope more of his work is in peoples hands as they tuck their little ones to bed at night.

Vernon Jones vs The Mob That Harassed Him!

As some of us saw the footage of the Pro-Trump Democratic Georgia state Rep. Vernon Jones walked through an angry mob of anti Trump, leftists socialist pigs bullied him, called him the “N WORD” and all sorts of racial, and biased terms.. Did you know Vernon is a black man? So much for Black Lives Matter when they’re attacking black people who don’t believe in the same politics they do. This is not about Black Lives anymore this is about politics, and an agenda to take over the country, and world! So Vernon Jones called on federal investigators Friday to look into the origin of the mobs that harassed him and other attendees of the Republican National Convention.

“Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, and the entire DNC and Congress and all the state heads and chairs of Democratic parties, they need to come out and denounce this hatred, this vitriol, condemn Black Lives Matter and then Antifa,” Jones told Fox News. But remember they won’t because to them these are “peaceful protests” and according to Jerry Nadless the human Penguin himself (From Batman comics) has stated “Antifa is a part of our imagination!” Even tho we see them riot, and loot, and kill, and know they’re real but this is not the narrative these evil people in Congress have for us. They’re playing with our lives, and using their agenda to over take the world by playing to our emotions. And you morons who are falling for it are showing how simple minded, and easily manipulated in the world.

“Congress should hold hearings and hear testimonies from those of us who are being attacked. It should also do a thorough investigation to see who’s funding … these professional domestic terrorists, and they should be held accountable,” he added.

Jones was among the several lawmakers and others who were accosted by protesters Thursday as they left the South Lawn of the White House on the final night of the Republican National Convention. According to footage of the incident outside the White House, belligerent Black Lives Matter activists surrounded Jones, asking him if he was Trump supporter and demanding he say Breonna Taylor’s name. He was saved by our good friend on PSN, and myself Odin himself “Darrell Neely” so props to him for coming to the rescue of Mr Jones.

“What it showed to me is that black lives don’t matter because I am a black person, I am a black life, so the hypocrisy that Black Lives Matter showed me right there, and verified and validated what I’d already been saying, is that black lives don’t matter,” Jones said of what happened.

Jones delivered an endorsement speech for President Donald Trump on Monday in which he torched his party for tolerating violence and being “infected” with “bigotry.” He afterward tweeted, “Yesterday, I addressed the Republican National Convention. I’m a lifelong Democrat, but I’m breaking free. The Left doesn’t own me. I’m breaking the chains.”

Jones’s call for an investigation echoed Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), who was also targeted by a mob, which required him to move with a police escort. As The Daily Wire reported, Paul was also suspicious that the protests roiling Washington, D.C., were organized and funded by interstate groups:

Paul later added that while it sounds “over-the-top,” he believes “we’re going to find out that these people are hired and from out of town, specifically in our case, I believe there are going to be people who are involved with the attack on us that actually were paid to come here, are not from Washington, D.C., and are sort of paid to be anarchists.”

“This is disturbing because really, if you’re inciting a riot, that’s a crime, but if you’re paying someone to incite a riot, that person needs to go to jail as well—but we can’t live this way,” Paul continued. “It’s become so dangerous for us, and I don’t hear Joe Biden or Kamala Harris saying one thing about the violence. This mob is their voters. This is the new Democrat Party, and if we don’t resist this, United States is going to become Portland. We’re going to become Chicago. All of these failed cities Democrats have run—the president said it in his speech—if we allow them to take over the White House, we are going to become Portland, the country will be on fire. We have to have law and order and we have to support the police. I can’t say that strong enough.”

‘The Batman’ Production Halts as Robert Pattinson Tests Positive for Corona

Filming for Matt Reeves’ The Batman has been suspended after Robert Pattinson the actor playing Bruce Wayne aka Batman in the upcoming film has reportedly tested positive for the KungFLU. Which is an ironic twist of fate since the virus is thought to come from a ‘BAT’ in the labs of China Wuhan Clan (Can’t make this shit up…), and well this is just another hard pill to take for this production which is not even half way filming, and it’s the latest delay is symptomatic of the industry’s struggle to safely operate during the global health crisis.

Filming was initially interrupted in March due to the KungFLU and production had only just resumed when WB’s announced that filming was “temporarily paused” as “a member of ‘The Batman’ production has tested positive for Covid-19.” Than New York Times reports that two people with knowledge of the production confirmed Pattinson as the cast member, though the studio has declined to comment beyond the statement issued.

Just weeks ago, Pattinson told fans at DC Comics’ virtual FanDome event, “As many of you probably already know, we were in the beginning stages of production when COVID hit, so now I’m very anxious to get back to work and continue to form this beloved character.”

The persistent interruptions to The Batman reflecta trend across the film industry as studios balance audience expectations, regional restrictions, and the safety concerns of their employees. Right now, the global production industry is engaged in a complex game of international chess as locations around the world open and close according to infection rates. Meanwhile, the sets themselves look vastly different and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future.

For a start, you’re likely to see a lot fewer crowd scenes until a vaccine is made available. The Washington Post predicts that until then, there’ll be fewer night scenes, which tend to be more intensive and expensive. Romantic scenes will also be a challenge, for obvious reason, so prepare for a lot more sexual tension, and blue balls. But maybe they got some juicy stuff filmed already as I’m sure those are easier shots to get. Having family going thru being tested positive for the KungFLU myself my dad and last living parent currently is getting over it, and I haven’t seen him in about a month because of it. But knowing at his age he’s doing ok, and he’s had health issues I’m hoping that with that everything works out well for Mr Pattinson, and we get to see his take on “The Batman” because the trailer, and footage shown so far has been spectacular! I Cannot wait to see the movie myself, and I was skeptical at first of his casting but after watching TeneT I have no doubt Pattinson will make an excellent BATMAN.

Remember also Jurassic World: Dominion was one of the first major Hollywood studio films to resume. Actor Bryce Dallas Howard explained that “in order to get any of us on a plane, we had to thoroughly understand the protocols, who was involved and hear second and third opinions. We are the guinea pigs who are going to take the leap.” Bringing a film together often requires a cast and crew of thousands, and protocols should be implemented to protect everyone on set. These ever-shifting protocols are proving extremely expensive, and it’s predicted that independent films will suffer the most. “It’s a fucking mess right now with the insurance companies and the bond companies. They are reeling from how much liability they’re going to have,” a lawyer revealed to the Hollywood Reporter, “For indies, a bank’s not going to loan you money if there’s a COVID exception.”

Hope he gets over it quick, and doesn’t get anything to serious as further health issues due to it. Wishing him well. Only a complete asshole would wish him harm. Sadly I do know one such moron…

Batgirl Movie Casts Brendan Fraser In Villain Role

One of my favorite actors since the 90s who had been MIA from movies for a long time has made a big come back in the DOOM PATROL, and in other projects recently and now Brendan Fraser has been cast in a villain role for the DC/HBO Max Batgirl movie starring Leslie Grace and directed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah.

It’s being confirmed that Brendan Fraser landed the role as the villain Firefly. Numerous outlets had reported Fraser as playing the villain but nothing was certain until now and it’s also being reported that he may be playing the gangster Carmine Falcone, another staple Batman villain character, who was previously played by John Doman in the Gotham series and Tom Wilkinson in Batman Begins. The character will next appear in 2022’s The Batman, as played by actor John Turturro.

But as for the Batgirl movie role Fraser will crush it as he’s a very underrated actor who has tons of range, and is someone who still has a major fanbase that loves him, and this is fantastic to see him get work again in Hollywood. He’s been missed so to see his rise again to big roles is well fantastic. He has had a long and distinguished career in Hollywood, breaking out with the comedy smash Encino Man in 1992 and going on to star in a string of hits, including The Mummy, George of the Jungle, Gods & Monsters, and Bedazzled. Fraser dropped out of the limelight for a while, but has had again a major resurgence of late, starring as Cliff Steele on one of my favorite comics as a kid turned into a show Doom Patrol as I stated before. He’s also taking the lead in Darren Aronofsky’s latest, The Whale, and securing a role in Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon with Leonardo DiCaprio.

Batgirl stars Leslie Grace as Barbara Gordon, daughter of Commissioner James Gordon, who dons the cape and cowl of the titular character in the HBO Max original live-action DCEU movie. JK Simmons, who played Gordon in Zack Snyder’s Justice League, will return to the role alongside Grace for Bad Boys For Life directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah. The script for Batgirl is written by Christina Hodson, who also penned Birds of Prey and next year’s The Flash. While “Birds of Prey” was utter garbage! I am looking forward to “The Flash” even while not liking the lead actor Ezra Miller in the role I do like that they got Michael Keaton to return as BATMAN aka Bruce Wayne and this reason alone is why I’m excited to see the movie.

Firefly is a criminal pyromaniac who uses fire and pyrotechnics to commit his crimes in Gotham City. He is often depicted as extremely violent and insane, carrying a blowtorch and wearing a winged fireproof suit. Fraser has worked steadily throughout his career and although he’s had highs and lows, the actor is experiencing a kind of Brendan Fraser renaissance in the last few years. Fraser’s popularity from his earlier works, especially The Mummy franchise, has given him a boost from fans that want to see more from the actor and prompted attention from the Hollywood A-list. Fraser has more than proven his talents and abilities, as a dramatic, comedic, and heroic lead, so seeing him in a proper DC villain role should be a fun challenge for the actor and a treat for his fans.

Batgirl is currently slated to debut on HBOMax sometime in 2022.
