Ivan Reitman has passed away.......... RIP

WOW Just after his son Jason brought back his most classic movie franchise “Ghostbusters” in the sequel “Ghostbusters: Afterlife” and Ivan served as producer to the film, and was on set during the filming, and it makes me happy he got to see the film his son made. But with the good comes the back as the the legendary Director and Producer passed away peacefully in his home Saturday night in his sleep. His family released a statement as they have come together to mourn this loss. Not just they feel it but his fans like myself, and millions of others feel their pain. He was one of my all time favorite directors, and he made some of the best comedies in movie history.

Ghostbusters made Ivan Reitman Legendary but he had such an iconic career other than just those two original films. He left us Saturday in his sleep at home, as reported by The Associated Press. Reitman was the highly successful producer behind several top comedies like Animal House and of course, Ghostbusters. Undoubtedly the world will be grieving the death of another film icon with this tremendous loss. He was 75 years old.

“Our family is grieving the unexpected loss of a husband, father, and grandfather who taught us to always seek the magic in life,” children Jason Reitman, Catherine Reitman and Caroline Reitman said in a joint statement. “We take comfort that his work as a filmmaker brought laughter and happiness to countless others around the world. While we mourn privately, we hope those who knew him through his films will remember him always.”

Reitman’s son, Jason Reitman, recently directed and co-wrote Ghostbusters: Afterlife and has often said the film is a love letter to his father’s work on the original films. Ivan was able to see his son’s work come to life this past summer with the highly successful film which was released to highly touted critical acclaim.

Reitman, whose big break came from National Lampoon’s Animal House, went on to be a top mind and producer on several of Hollywood’s biggest, most outrageous comedies from Stripes to Bill Murray’s first starring role, Meatballs. Of course, there is no doubt that Reitman’s best, most prolific work came in the not so spectral form of Ghostbusters. The 1984 film starring Bill Murray, Harold Ramis, Dan Aykroyd, and Ernie Hudson has spawned two sequels now, and a reboot featuring an all-female cast in 2016. However, this aside, his work on Ghostbusters spawned comics, cartoons, merchandise, books, video games, and indeed shaped pop culture for the better. Reitman also tried his directing chops in such comedies as Dave, Kindergarten Cop, and Twins.

Last year, while on the press tour with his son Jason, Reitman, who did have a cameo in Afterlife, was asked about his masterpiece, and how it continued to fascinate, and even grow. He had a great response as he said, “I always had a sort of sincere approach to the comedy. I took it seriously even though, it was a horror movie and a comedy, I felt you had to sort of deal with it in a kind of realistic and honest way.”

Born in Komarmo, Czechoslovakia in 1946, the son of a vinegar factory owner, Reitman will go down as one of, if not the best comedy producers of all time. This is a legacy his son Jason, and daughters Catherine Reitman and Caroline Reitman can be proud of as well as join in with millions of fans worldwide united in grief and celebration of a magnificent and award-winning career. Our thoughts go out to them at this painful time. Ivan will always be remembered for his incredible work and his legacy will live on forever. Rest in peace.

New Ghostbusters: Afterlife Trailer Released... #Tears

As a long time Ghostbusters fan I went ape shit when they released the reboot in in 2016 and well I was eventually proven right in my war with that films cast, and director on Twitter which got 2 of that films main stars, and the director to block me. So I guess life goal completed? Anyway that film failed, and where it failed it looks like the sequel to the original two which is set to be released soon called “Ghostbusters: Afterlife” so far has looked great and the latest trailer just released boy did this bring me to some very grown up man tears. This looks flipping fantastic as it’s not some wacky rip off which looks like a bunch of chicks in bad cosplay! This looks like a real movie made by someone who actually knows, and loves the source material.

Why wouldn’t he? He’s the son of the man who directed the first two blockbuster epics! Yes we all know that he’s a fine director in his own right but Director Jason Reitman did place himself in a tricky spot because his father who’s still with us is an icon, and his two films are iconic. So to follow up those two movies is a challenge but one that Jason looks like he’s totally nailed. It looks like he understands what made the original movie so special. That movie had a lot of jokes, and it was funny. But it also was a movie with real horror moments which played for actual scary scenes, and not some goofy wacky comedy like the reboot. The new trailer is out, and it’s playing below… Feast your eyes on it.

When a single mom and her two kids arrive in a small town, they begin to discover their connection to the original Ghostbusters and the secret legacy their grandfather left behind.

Suspect in custody for Rick Moranis assault!

Music to my ears folks! Another piece of horse shit off the streets, and in prison where he belongs! Police on Saturday arrested a homeless, violent ex-con and charged him with randomly slugging actor Rick Moranis last month on the Upper West Side. Marquis Ventura, 35, was spotted by Transit Bureau sergeant at 96th Street and Broadway who made the arrest. Pictures of this asshole Ventura masked face had been widely publicized in the month since the unprovoked, caught-on-video attack steps from the actor’s Central Park West apartment.

“Thanks to an eagle-eyed sergeant from @NYPDTransit, this suspect has been apprehended and charged,” the NYPD said in a tweet announcing the arrest in the Moranis beating. “Huh?” an unblinking Ventura responded to a reporter’s question, as detectives led him in handcuffs from the 20th Precinct on the Upper West Side at 8:30 p.m.

He was taken to Central Booking and was expected to be arraigned in Manhattan Criminal Court on Sunday… Ventura has a history of more than a dozen arrests, including five for felonies, the sources said. His most recent arrest for allegedly randomly pummeling a straphanger in the West 4th Street subway station had been just two weeks after the attack on Moranis. Personally I love Rick Moranis work, and I’m happy they caught this man. Rick Moranis is such a nice guy the man left his movie career to be a dad when his wife passed away, and has never bothered anyone or been some Hollywood snob. He’s just a nice guy comedian, and is loved by millions of fans. We have wanted to see him in movies again for a long time, and he’s been slowly coming back to working again in films, and there might be a Ghostbuster cameo in next years Ghostbusters 3.

As with Moranis, that more recent victim, a 61-year-old man, was knocked to the ground, and when the victim’s pal tried to intervene, Ventura allegedly chomped down on the pal’s hand, and Ventura fled the station after a woman bystander thwacked him on the head with an umbrella, police said. Man they need to keep Ventura locked up for good he’s a menace to society.

Moranis suffered pain in his head, back and right hip as a result of the attack, and I hope he presses charges on this man, and doesn’t let him get away with it. The disturbing, unprovoked attack was filmed by sidewalk surveillance cameras, and more images of the masked suspect were captured from additional cameras. The Moranis attack is now the third open stranger-assault case against Ventura.

He remains charged in the Bronx with misdemeanor assault for allegedly punching a young woman in the face after asking her for money on a No. 5 train on April 13, according to law enforcement sources and public court records, and that victim, who was 23, told cops that Ventura displayed a large knife during the attack.

My new favorite moment on TV! Ryan Reynolds Brings Rick Moranis Back for New Mint Mobile Ad!

These two men are awesome!

Ok me saying that they are awesome, and that I’m a GIANT Fan of both dudes just isn’t enough! I am honestly a big fan of them both and for a long long time. Starting with the amazing comic genius Rick Moranis who has been one of my favorite actors since I was a kid and first saw him in cinemas, and man did he make me crack up! Man ICONIC roles like the best spoof ever Spaceballs, best paranormal ghost movies ever Ghostbusters 1 & 2, Little Shop of Horrors, The Flintstones, Strange Brew, Honey, I Shrunk the Kids, Honey, I Blew Up the Kid, and folks we’re in for a treat! Because Wayne Szalinski is coming back with “Shrunk“which is in (pre-production) and it’s already in my top 5 most anticipated movies coming out in the next couple of years. I REALLY HOPE they do it when Theaters are at full capacity, and we’re over the current plandemic. But how cool is that? We’re getting a new movie with Wayne Szalinski and from the name. This will be good.

So when Ryan Reynolds called on the acting icon, who stepped away from Hollywood after his wife died of breast cancer years ago to raise his kids, and to me he is what I would call a real hero. But when Ryan called him he was able to be the first to help bring back one of the greats.

Remember and will always give him props because to put your entire career a side to do right by your kids, and late wife speaks volumes of the moral, and character of Rick Moranis as a man. I will never forget hearing the horrible news that he was leaving acting. I was crushed but understood who wouldn’t I mean the man had a major loss, and decided to take a step back from Hollywood a year after his wife, costume designer Ann Belsky, died in February 1991 of breast cancer. The couple shared two children “Rachel and Mitchell”. I applaud him for his bold, and wise move. That folks is a great parent.

Now I’ve been a big fan of Ryan Reynolds for 2 plus decades, and no it’s not cause of his Green Lantern role (Even tho it was good I don’t care what others say. I loved it, and have it on Blu Ray.) But I loved his old show “Two Guys, a girl and a Pizza place” and his earlier work like “Waiting” and loved him in Blade Trinity. He’s been one of my favorite current actors for many many years. And of course Green Lantern, and Deadpool most recently. Can’t wait for Deadpool 3, and perhaps his return as HAL JORDAN in the “Lantern Corp” movie DC has planned. I think that’s the name anyway.

But with the newest Mint Mobile owner now in charge man did he really bring out the star power in Rick Moranis!! WOW But he’s Deadpool and if Rick said no????????? Well the Merc with the Mouth might have had to go into his magic satchel and pull out his favorite weapon of choice! But then again who would win? DEAD POOL or “Dark Helmet” ? I KNOW! This one ain’t easy… Remember Dark Helmet had the power of the ever lasting Schwartz! But he was using the dark side of it, and we all know there is two sides to every Schwartz… But can he harness enough juice in his schwartz with his ring to overcome the Merc? Who knows!

With that sound logic in mind the Iconic actor Rick Moranis couldn’t say no to the offer he got from Reynolds who really wanted to land him and pull the star out of retirement to announce Mint Mobile’s first-ever unlimited plan in a very hilarious new ad, and man was it awesome. “It’s hard to believe that Mint Mobile has gone so long without an unlimited plan,” Reynolds, 43, says in the ad. “So, to introduce it, we brought in an actor we’ve all gone too long without: Rick Moranis.”

“So why am I here?” Moranis, 67, asks after Reynolds tells him he doesn’t actually have to promote the new plan.
“I’m a huge fan,” Reynolds explains. “Massive.” lol Aren’t we all Ryan? “That’s it?” Moranis asks before heading out of frame. “See ya,” he says. And those 25 seconds were glorious to watch. I sort of hope that rick is in Deadpool 3!!!!!

Mint Mobile’s new unlimited plan offers talk, text and data for $30 a month if you sign up for the year plan, and if you do the 3 month plan you get the $30 plan for that first 3 months, and then it only goes up to $40 if you keep it on a 3 month basis. You can keep it at $30 if you sign up for the entire year. Which I recommend so you save more $$$ which in today’s world folks this is a must.

In a statement, Reynolds explained how the commercial became reality and how much he was starstruck by Moranis on set. Yeah I bet lol “Like many Canadians and humans, I adore and worship Rick Moranis. From Strange Brew to Ghostbusters to Spaceballs to Honey, I Shrunk the Kids, his performances and lines are burned into my brain and heart. We asked Rick to do this 8 days before our shoot kind of on a lark but after a few emails and a conversation, he agreed. And it was wonderful. Everyone on set was completely star struck, most of all me. We’re so grateful he came back and hope he stays back.”

One misconception is that the actor slowly left public life after her death to focus on being a single father, and had retired from the business. But this wasn’t the case as he told The Hollywood Reporter in 2015.

He’s never expressed regret at his decision and said “I was working with really interesting people, wonderful people,” he said. “I went from that to being at home with a couple of little kids, which is a very different lifestyle. But it was important to me.” He added, “I have absolutely no regrets whatsoever. My life is wonderful.” And sir. You’re a wonderful father, actor, and human being.
