Sen. Joe Manchin leaves Democratic Party

Well who didn't see this coming has the same vision problems Stevie Wonder has... But effective today Friday West Virginia Sen. Joe Manchin, a longtime political moderate, announced he is leaving the Democratic Party and has registered as an independent. Manchin, who is not running for re-election, will continue to caucus with Senate Democrats until the end of his term, his office confirmed. What does this mean? Well the balance of power in the upper chamber will not change significantly yet but he is currently chairman of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee. "From my first day in public service in 1982, I have always focused on doing what’s best for my state and my country, without regard to party or politics. Throughout my days in elected office, I have always been proud of my commitment to common sense, bipartisanship and my desire to bring people together. It’s who I am. It’s who I will always be. I have never seen America through a partisan lens," Manchin said. 

"However, since becoming a United States Senator in 2010, I have seen both the Democrat and Republican parties leave West Virginia and our country behind for partisan extremism while jeopardizing our democracy. Today, our national politics are broken and neither party is willing to compromise to find common ground. To stay true to myself and remain committed to put country before party, I have decided to register as an independent with no party affiliation and continue to fight for America’s sensible majority." Manchin's surprise decision comes amid reports that he is being encouraged to run for governor of West Virginia by moderate Republicans dissatisfied with the party's nominee, state Attorney General Patrick Morrisey. It also comes ahead of a deadline for filing as an independent in West Virginia.

Questioned about those reports last week, Manchin downplayed the rumors but would not rule them out. He said the Democratic nominee, Huntington Mayor Steve Williams, is a friend. "I heard that this morning, the rumors. I've supported my friend Steve Williams, we've known each other for 40 years, got him involved. He's a good person. I don't know what's going on. So basically, I'll just wait until I go home," Manchin said. The West Virginia MetroNews report quoted sources "close" to the senator who said at least 20 Republicans "with financial resources" have encouraged Manchin to run for governor. Since that report was published, Manchin was reportedly bombarded by people urging him to run at an event at the Greenbrier resort in White Sulphur Springs, according to WVMetroNews. The Greenbrier is notably owned by the state’s current governor, Democrat-turned-Republican Jim Justice, who is term-limited and now is the GOP’s Senate nominee to replace Manchin.

"The talk about the possibility of Joe Manchin running for West Virginia governor again is real," wrote Hoppy Kercheval, a news anchor and one of the state’s most recognizable media figures. The Democratic primary is over and Manchin could not run for governor as a Democrat. But his sudden and unexpected decision to become an independent opens the door for a bid for the governor's mansion, or even a re-election effort for Senate. Manchin will have several more weeks to decide whether to run for Senate or mount a bid for his old job as governor.

Speaker Jim Jordan? HELL YEAH!!

The Republicans speaker choices to me is a toss up between Matt Gaetz, Jim Jordan or MTG Marjorie Taylor Greene. But above them all if they were serious on getting Donald Trump in the seat I'd be 100% in that boat over everyone else. Steve Scalise would be good but I think he might end up as Trumps next VP. This is a hunch I have.



With that said Trump himself said he would back Jim Jordan who to me is ideal for the role as he's probably the most fun to listen to in the congress when speaks. Also he's a big personality who backs TRUMP 100% and to be honest if we get Orange man back in the President seat with a Jim Jordan and no Nasty Pelosi trying to destroy him the REPUBLICANS might actually be able to do great things. Remember Trump was President with the worst, and most corrupt person possibly in this nations history to hold "Speaker of the House" in "Nasty Nancy Pelosi."



So Jim? YEAH i'm with that move this also allows Matt Gaetz to take on the Governors job in the next elections and Florida gets DeSanitized! (Sorry had to go there.)



Now we do have to watch out for Rinos running for the position and so what Matt did with Kevin when they debated for two days and Kevin agreed to their rules it was brilliant. I think here if Jim is the nomination Matt, and MTG will have no issues with this one cause Jim is on the same team. But also we want to know as people who would back this is does he have any kind of relationship with Mitch McConnell?



Jim Jordan said this week when asked this he said it’s “fine” and “good.” Um … sure. Perfect answer as we know Mitch McConnell is a total RINO! But he's been there since the Titanic went down or maybe when the first great depression. Maybe he wants to live through two and is why he's such a Rino. But I do find it funny how Chuck Schummer ran ads on TV, and the NET with the slogan "Ditch Mitch" and these ads were when Mitch were running for re-election. Now you would think that Mitch would be less friendly with someone who ran ads against him but the SWAMP does this.



They run ads against their comrade Rinos while behind the scenes they love to help each other, and I've seen this happen before. So Jim who can't show discontent for another Republican that openly in the Swamp with one of the biggest Rino Swamp heads in there. So his answer again ideal from my POV.



Remember Mitch has done his share to burn down the Senate, god only knows how much McConnell does believes in a kind of old-school decorum that Jordan has utterly rejected. They’re stylistically polar opposites. And then there’s Ukraine aid, which McConnell backs and Jordan staunchly opposes.



Speaker Jordan will need to understand where Kevin failed and make sure that he doesn't repeat those mistakes himself, and so with the whole thing happening with Trump in courts some are also asking with as vocal as Jordan has been about that day just how much does Jordan know about January 6?

These are qualities Ted Cruz also has so he would also be someone fun up there as I love how he debates. But to me I can sleep better knowing it's Jordan, Trump or MTG as Speaker. These 3 give me the best chance knowing that at least it's not Nasty Nancy Pelosi.

 Friday, only hours after speaker candidates Steve Scalise, Jim Jordan, and Kevin Hern apparently agreed to a live, televised debate on Fox News, all three backed out. It’s not entirely clear why they suddenly canceled the debate, but it’s likely that it was the result of an entirely warranted freakout from their caucus’s more moderate members or since they're pretty much on the MAGA train why bother?

A televised debate for the speakers job was a again something that could have been fun given the names but one which would probably be again a stupid idea, one that would have made the already difficult job nearly impossible to do.

But I don't think this will be an issue because I'm pretty sure Jim will get in without much hesitation.

“Look the deal is that the office that Pelosi is in right now is the office of the preceding speaker. Speaker Pelosi and other Democrats determined that they wanted a new … speaker, and it’s Kevin McCarthy. So, he’s getting the office,” he said.



Sources close to Pelosi and Hoyer say it was retaliation for Democrats siding against McCarthy in voting to vacate the speaker’s chair Tuesday. The unofficial offices are located near the House floor. McCarthy and McHenry’s did not respond to requests for comment. Recently on June 22, 2023, Laughton was arrested and held in jail on preventative detention pending arraignment to four counts of distribution of child sexual abuse images.

On November 12, 2022, Laughton was arrested and held in jail on a single stalking charge of violating a court order, prohibiting her from posting on Facebook about a woman. She is facing up to nine months in jail due to her suspended sentence for texting 911 during non-emergencies.

Laughton turned herself in to police on March 12, 2015, after a warrant for her arrest was issued stemming from a bomb threat phoned in to Southern New Hampshire Medical Center on February 27. She was initially charged with making a false report of explosives. A judge reduced the charge to a misdemeanor and sentenced her to a six-month suspended jail term.

A criminal complaint has revealed new details of the allegations against a former New Hampshire state representative accused of coaxing her former partner into taking naked photos of children at a Massachusetts day care. Stacie is the nation’s first transgender elected state rep and was arrested for child porn and child exploitation.

Stacie Laughton is facing federal charges of sexual exploitation of children and aiding and abetting. According to the complaint, Laughton originally told investigators that she coaxed Lindsay Groves into taking pornographic pictures of male and female children at a day care where Groves worked at the time. But federal officials said it went beyond that. "Laughton and Groves were involved in an intimate relationship in which they discussed their sexual attraction to and potential sexual involvement with children," investigators said in the complaint.

The complaint said the investigation began on June 20, when Nashua police were told: "Laughton had shown child sex abuse images to other adults." The complaint details four child sex abuse images involving male and female children who appear to be under the age of 5. The purported texts between Groves and Laughton contain exchanges in which Laughton allegedly wrote about having oral sex with a girl, only to have Groves note, "She's not even 3 yet."

"I don't know if I'll get those answers." Laughton first made headlines in 2012 for being the first transgender person to win a New Hampshire State House election.

But the Democrat didn't take office after the Ballot Law Commission learned of two felony credit card fraud convictions from 2008. In 2015, Laughton was accused of calling in a bomb threat to a hospital, and in 2022, she was convicted of texting 911 during non-emergencies. In 2022, she was charged with stalking and harassing Groves, who Laughton described to police as her wife. 

Laughton has been elected to the State House three times but resigned twice because of legal troubles. Groves is also facing federal charges in Massachusetts, where she is scheduled to appear for an arraignment Wednesday. Now that this is here and this person is facing charges don't EVER forget that name, and his crimes. And you leftists STOP voting for these freak pedophiles.
